Try places like Dunelm Mill, B&M's, Home Bargains, Jysk, the Range, even charity shops may have some. Failing that I've been known to use small boxes, like shoe box size and cover them in Xmas paper & cellophane/ribbons. Florists will normally sell you a roll of cellophane, if not ebay will have some.

Oh, by the way, charity shops are good places to look for pressies the week after Christmas or in the New Year, when people give in their unwanted presents. I've had loads of cheap but posh toiletry sets from them :)

Thanks linz fab link and ideas :-):T:j:money:

I've managed to get my daughters main present already - She's 2 1/2 so is pretty easy really. She's getting a wooden dolls house from Asda with furniture - House £35 and furniture £7.50. Being as she loved the one at a friends house and had to be separated screaming and kicking from it I think it'll be a winner ;) A couple of little bits for her stocking and she's sorted :) Then I just need to do her Advent calendar (purchased from Lidl for I think it was £6-£7, I'm going to jazz it up a little but still easier than making from scratch :) )

its a great idea :-) any ideas where to get the hamper, box bit from cheaply?x

If you've not got one yet, there's loads on E*bay.... all sizes. Depends if you want a lid or not. There's lovely lidded ones very cheap but pick up only so would depend if there's one near you.

If you are happy with an open one, have a look at this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CAMBRIDGE-WICKER-BASKET-STORAGE-TRAY-FOOD-HAMPER-BREAD-FRUIT-ETC-SMALL-MINI-/320785498278?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Decorative_Accents_LE&hash=item4ab04e40a6 I've got a couple of these that I use in the kitchen for storage and they're great. A bit of shredded tissue in the bottom/cling film & a lovely bit of ribbon... heavenly!:D

I've bought my Mum and Dad tickets to see We Will Rock You in Edinburgh (I'm going too!). Bought £144 Ticketmaster gift card on eBay for £102 and only had to pay an extra 25p.

Also buying them a DVD player which allows you to play films from USB - only £26.95 on Amazon and will save them having to buy DVDs if I can download them. Hopefully get £15 Toluna vouchers soon to contribute to this.

Friend 1 will get some Molton Brown gift sets (possibly bought from eBay or use small sample bottles I already have!) plus another small item
Friend 2 will get some stuff bought from designer outlet place and maybe TKMaxx
Friend 3 & 4 - no idea yet but will have to get thinking cap on!

Last year we committed to only buying for the kids, and instructing family and friends not to get us anything because there's nothing that we actually NEED. Usually I would spend, for example, £30 on stuff for my sister that she didn't need and she would then spend the same on me on stuff I didn't need. Net result = £30 of stuff I don't need.

It worked so well that we are doing the same again this year. We still get the fun from giving and seeing the kids enjoy their presents, but don't feel that awful pressure of having to get people stuff and then hoping that you have spent enough on them.

for anyone who has small kids i would do a hamper from poundland, i've got my twins loads of cars stuff and my youngests peppa pig stuff, you can get wee canvas peppa pig and cars boxes from argos aswell if you wnated to make it fancier or else poundland also do cars/peppa giftbags, they also have lots of toy story and other popular bits (like hello kitty)

i've made my sister in law a cupcake themed gift with a baking set i got half price in the boots sale last year and a cupcake money box (poundland do these but b&m do bigger better ones for £1.99) and some pretty bun cases, this would easily be done with a nice down, some spatunlas a whisk, piping bag, some sprinkles/flour/icing sugar (3for2 in tesco at the mo) and maybe a pretty tea towel

our local flower shops will give u cellopane to wrap it all in if u ask nicely, the one i use sells fruit so i usually buy some while i'm in so there also getting trade

My sister and Brother in Law both have smellies. Got Decent 100ml sents from the Purfume shop - both reduced from £48.

My father in law has a set of cufflinks and a tie clip reduced to £19, and my mum a heart broach reduced to £15 both from H M Samuels.

My Father in law got some Next smellies for £10 (nominally from the kids) while we got him a new Dressing Gown at £25 also from next.

Thats us done - not too many peopl eI know, but total cost of £109. Our budget was £120 (£10 saved for the family every month starting December last year) - so under budget by £11.

Kids have also been done. Budget for them was £120 each (again £10 each saved through the year). Daniel has some Ben 10 figues and watch, and also some Lego and a Dr Who Sonci Scre Driver. Shannon has a Baby Bourne, a couple of sets of clothes for it, and one of those new Fijit things (which we got reduced) - she doesnt know about that but will love it.

So - all Done. Me and the Wife both got really quite expensive (for us) coats - both North Face. Mine was £220 hers was £250, but that was all funded by monies sent from mums/dads. Im trying to get £30 together this month for some purfume for the wife though. I habe £25 now - and will hopefully save the other £5 on this weeks shop.

£60 worth of stuff you both don't need :). Agree - keep the focus on quality time spent in one another's company.
