NATWEST DOWN: Latest update

The advisors must have had some right ear ache yesterday lol
Yes, I didn’t give them earache, I just rather firmly stated that something would need to be done about this. My main concern is that I wanted to get staff expenses completed yesterday, and thus could not, in addition to the personal banking problems, of which around £2,000 needed to be shifted around to deal with my debts.
I understand fully that I am a high-value customer to Natwest, however I will not use this to my advantage, but will use the facts in negotiations with the bank.
Please also remember that technically, the bank is contracted to work in my interests, not the other way around. This is the case with any customer.

I understand your circumstances however I do not see you getting the greatest amounts if any. As I have already said money paid into your account on a saturday is not really cleared funds until Monday. Plus the banks T&Cs state:
Taken from the banks terms and conditions:
14.7 Availability of the Service
14.7.1 While we will make reasonable efforts to provide the Service, we will not be liable for any failure to provide the Service, in part
or full, for any cause that is beyond our reasonable control.
This includes, in particular, any suspension of the Service
resulting from maintenance and upgrades to our systems
or the systems of any party used to provide the Service#
However im not sure what they mean by "reasonable" :rotfl:

well if you start push banks for compo for things like this then the bank will just tell you to go elsewhere as you will be seen as a trouble maker
I am not sure if the policy still exists however they used to say if you made 3 complaints and received compensation for the issues raised by the customer. They would close your account as they would say to the customer "they was unable to provide the service they required".Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
I was one of the people affected by the Natwest problem on saturday. Went to Tesco to do shopping and both cards were refused which was highly embarassing Luckily I had my clubcard vouchers on me, keeping them for double up for kids xmas pressies.
Rang the bank this morning, told them what had happened and after a few checks agreed to put £74 into my account to cover the vouchers I had to use. This was in my account within the hour (my shopping was £37 but they agreed to give me the double up amount).
I wasn't angry with them, just polite but firm, wasn't even after extra compo for stress caused and they paid out without problems.
Might be worth asking if you were out of pocket because of this.0 -

FINALLY someone with a bit of common sense! What I was trying to push is that I had a provable loss in the matter that (could have) made 2 payments late. I’m not sure how many of you know the exact circumstances, however I’ve spent the day getting paperwork sorted and am moving house on Thursday, before flying off to Armenia for work on Saturday. This is going to be a really tight week, and I don’t have time to mess around.💙💛 💔0 -
Exactly where does the OP think we should stop in all this......
Presumably the OP would support those caught up in traffic jams from the M5 mega pileup last week all sueing those killed and injured in the accident for their journeys being interupted and having to wait in a tailback?
Or perhaps they should instead sue the emergency services for not simply getting a bullzozer and ramming the whole lot off the motorway into the ditch in a matter of minutes and sod the casualities just so their journeys could continue upabated?0 -

I think you’ll find that where there are severe problems that may endanger life, my opinion changes substantially.
I feel that from the news today, as an ex-CAGger, there should be action taken against the fireworks organisers if they are found to be at fault, however.💙💛 💔0
