i think that giving them to charity is very commendable of you...

i speak for myself here, but im guessing others feel the same too - Its not the fact that 'others' get the bargains, i for one, will tell others whilst i am in the storeif i find a bargain... share all i say..

but - it is quite disheartening when you find something, sometimes after literally spending hours looking for it, only to see somone else with a trolley full... esecially as sometimes you only want just the one...

yes, i agree giving to charity is great.. but i believe charity begins at home..... everyone is struggling financially at the minute..... but if you were to read up about it, charity shops are booming.. i for one would have never considered shopping in a charity shop in the past, but i do now.

dont take offense to this quiestion, but why not just donate the money you would have spent in Tescos, to the charity shop directly, then the others that have worked hard for these finds can also reepthe rewards... win win situation then? xx

I was just about to post something similar, when the toys were going cheap I told people down the toy isle who had no idea they were on offer - who were very grateful - if not a little doubtfull about the prices! I think the FB thing is a great idea for swaps - some things are readily available in some stores & not in others, and swapping is not allowed on here as I found out with the toys:o

  • Good Evening,

I have been looking at MSE for a while now and like many others and am rather disheartened by the apparent "ownership" some of you feel you have over people who do not post on this site.

I believe and am 100% certain that this site is free and anyone can view it. Indeed anyone can purchase any item from any store, all you need is the money.

It appears that quite a few people who post on here are transfixed by their own self-importance and think they are some sort of higher being. Bitterness is an incredibly divisive and soul destroying mental approach to any situation.

Given the current financial climate everyone is looking for a bargain.....

I took great please in visiting the tesco Long Eaton a recently after seeing a post on scarves. There were loads at 4p. The person posting seemed to be trying to pass a coded message to their friend without letting everyone know about this "glitch". While in store i saw someone else (obviously an MSE viewer) looking for the same thing as I was so we helped each other. She bought some scarves for her family and i bought the rest. All 27 of them. I propmtly then took them to the local cancer charity shop and gave them all away. The gobsmacked person on the counter just stared aghast as she looked at the tags and new labels. Hopefully the money raised will really help people with genuine need rather than total greed.

I intend to continue to do this....Because I Can!

For those of you who continue to perpetually whinge and think you are some kind of higher being because you post on a thread have no god given right to think you are the only people in the world who have the right to "engorge" yourselves in glutony

    Your truly

    Because I Can...and I Will :)

If i thought that your motives were indeed admirable and well intentioned then I'd have thanked your post, however the fact its your first post and is so condescending suggests your motives are less than honourable and that references to charitable giving merely veil your intent to inflame.

Its a pity as some of your points would have merit otherwise.

hmmmm...it was me who put the post on here about the scarves in long eaton...I did this as i knew that another person who frequents this thread sometimes goes to that store and has been looking for the scarves.
In no way do I think i am any of the highlighted bits above....but we only have your written word to say that you gave your scarves away to charity. For allwe know, you could have them all wrapped around you now.

Whilst it is worthy to get these items cheap and donate to charity...many of us on here are trying to get by the best way we can...and if that is to get cheap little treats as presents for friends/neighbours/children etc then so be it.....as much as you've slammed our rights to do this, you have no right to come on here and berate people the way you have....If you knew each individual person on here and their personal circumstances then fine- but you dont know peoples finances, nor should you be the person who gets to decide who shall get the items.
I sincerely hope the next time you go and buy 27 items that you are trouted- maybe that will bring you down a peg or two.

    rant over
hoping for a very MSE Ts glitching 2012!

    Dear Sunshinestar,

I can understand people's frustrations when they discover something and others dont share what they find.

Giving to the charity shop meant they could make the profit rather than a £1.08 donation from myself. They will be better from the goods than my money.

I would like to raise a slightly more controversial point. Please bear with me....

I have a job that genuinely changes peoples lives, if i discovered a cure for cancer and only shared it with my friends how would people feel.

My personal choice is to share what i can and help those i can. Fortunately i am not in the position where i struggle to put food on the table so am able to try to help. Giving £10 to charity or £10 of "glitched" items could make a huge difference to someone else.

Increasingly people are occupied by greed and as you may tell i am not like that. If people need to make income from glitches then good luck to them.

But finding something new or cheap means you get the first advantage. Whats wrong with anyone benefitting from your discovery. If we all kept our discoveries to ourselves i doubt i would be typing this via the internet and a wireless network

  • Dear Frenchknickers,

I believe even though this is my first post my points are still absolutely relevant. Abstinance from involving ones self in discussions or activities is not a sign of ignorance
