My Mum got remarried 3 years ago and I got some gorgeous aubergine peep toe shoes from John Lewis to go with my Bridesmaid dress. The heel is around 1.5" and I wore them all day with out getting sore feet :jso I'm going to wear them for my Wedding as we're having the same colour theme and I didn't wont ivory shoes.

Very MSE as I got them in the sale for £20 and have worn them to 2 other weddings since. Had to be a bit MSE and I spent more than I had budgetted on the dress! :(

Lorna01 - Try New Look for cheaper version of the sparkly ones - I looked in there today and there are some very similar. I have to say also that I have found New look shoes fab for one offs or going out shoes. No one ever guesses they are new look either.

I've already got my shoes (satin ivory) but couldn't resist a look on New Look's website and have now fallen in love with these but I can't afford them at the moment :(

I am not a high-heel girl (I have to wear steel toe cap boots for work so don't get much of a chance for pretty shoes!) but do need a bit of height to even out the height difference between me and my OH. QUOTE]

Im another steel toe cap wearer. I also suffer from 'hard hat hair'.

I had to wear heels as my dress could not be taken up and the heel height just kept getting higher and higher. The week before the wedding I was told I had to go from a 3 inch heel to a four inch heel. I didnt have time to break them in and they crippled me on the day, I didnt walk around our guests as much as I wanted to and I only danced once (in flats but by then the damage was done).

In hindsight I should have chosen some wedge heels as they do tend to be more comfortable. But i couldnt find any lovely ones in the shops. Wedges are becoming more fashionable this season so you may get lucky there! Failing that I would recommend ordering in the rainbow club ones. They are not the cheapest but you really need to be comfortable on the day.

I have just been on ebay and bid on some Schuh on a shuh string shoes! They are the shop samples/seconds which they are selling off. So far I have bid on two pairs - the amazing crysal heeled ones at the beginning of this post and a lower pair. If I get either of them I will be made up as max bid £20 on either pair.

It could be worth a look, especially as if like me your dress will cover your shoes. Plus the chances of white or light shoes staying perfect all day is zero for me!

These are mine, I got them off ebay in plain white for £40, then I sprayed them and glued lace on. I'm so pleased cos they are so high but I can actually walk in them!
  • I think comfort is probably the most important thing on your big day! Check out Angela Nuran shoes! She does wedding shoes but they are supposed to be the most comfortable things you have ever worn! Plus she does one with an amazing glitzy heel which I love and I think is better than having a whole glitzy shoe which might take away from the dress!

    I'm really sad :(

Bought these shoes earlier in a size 5, tried them on with an insole but they slipped off at the back. I bought them anyway to try a heel grip and it still slips off :( i knew I'd have to buy something with a sling back or strap cause "normal" shoes never fit me but I love these shoes and I want them, plus they match my colour theme :(
I tried on the size 4 but it crushed my feet and they don't do any half sizes. Any ideas what else I can try? Thanks

These were my shoes, and I made the bouquet myself.

I love a flash of colour under a white or ivory wedding dress!

I've still got them in a box gathering dust, hopefully I may wear them again.

Shellsuit - they are fab. Love the bouquet too - are they real or silk? If silk, where did you get them? Megan

The bouquet was made with silk flowers. I got the flowers for it (and my daughters, which was matching, only smaller) from a local place called Inspirations, which is on the Wirral in Merseyside.

Everything for both of them cost £70, which I thought was good.

I've still got them in vases in the hallway lol! :o
