It's lovely to 'see' you again Mrs PG. :D

I am sorry to hear about all the things which have happened. If anyone can get through all this, then you're the person. Ever resilient, ever fighting and a lovely caring person for her family.

I look forward to reading your triumphs and to seeing the figure come down. :)

Don't forget to take some special time out for yourself and your family.
    Take care. :)

Lovely to see you to Mr B. I have taken the liberty of changing my signature and taking off the debt that they have confirmed is unenforceable. I know t could come back and bite me on the bum, but its a very satisfying feeling deducting that amount from my signature, so I will stick by my decision for now ! :D

Mr PG has a day off on the 27th November, although the girls are at school, but we will try ad allocate a family evening at the very least !

Hope you are keeping well, I have yet to catch up on your news xxx

    Thanks Piq.

We knew cashing in the endowment wasn't good advice at the time , but we were in such a pickle that we felt that we had absolutely no other option. I could argue the case, but I think I would feel bad as hes actually a really nice man, but he did have the whole story with nothing left out, complete with me a snivelling wreck in the corner , and that was the best he could come up with at the time as we had not a penny to our name. A few months down the line was when the bank got involved on the loan, of which I called him for advise on their proposals also and again he felt the loan was the best solution.

Its crazy as we knew all along we were doing the wrong thing but were so stressed and exhausted by it all, we just jumped in with two feet.

We are getting there now though albeit slowly and I am sure it will come out in the wash.

Right, I am off to tackle the mountainous ironing pile......byee for now xxxx

    Dearest one

It's not about what a nice man he was, he gave you the wrong advice. In the future claiming against his company not him may well ensure you have your home. I'm sorry I sound mean, you know I'm not, but you need to consider the bigger picture. If there is any chance you can claim the endowment back, my advice is to try it.

    Hi Mrs PG

Am with Piq on this one. It's not personal, you are claiming against his PII. He or hi firm will have paid premiums against this very eventuality of a successful claim.

    So v v pleased re car! :j

Have to dash now but just wanted to check in ;)

  • It disappeared in a puff of smoke and total madness and chaos. The week is disappearing just as fast. Not sure if thats a good thing or not but I am exhausted. Am now on my second week of being unable to speak, voice completely disappeared much to the children's delight, but totally frustrating for me !!

Went to collect the car yesterday morning, all a mad rush, it wasnt taxed or insured so that all needed doing . Couldnt tax online as DVLA couldnt see that it had been insured, mad dash to the post office materialised before realising that we didn't have the MOT certificate with us ! Back home we trashed the office in search of it, couldn't find it made a mercy call to the garage who gave us a copy immediately for £10. We then zipped like crazy idiots to the Garage, paid the bill. The car was being kept in an overflow car park. Stupidly as because we had to be back in Central London an hour later but we were one and half hours away at the time, we paid the bill, drove round to the overflow to find the car in a muddy field, damp and smelly inside with mould growing from one of the speakers and guess what !! It wouldn't start !!! Mr PG was getting really really stressed as we were at serious risk of being late for our meeting, but we had no other time to collect car for at least another week. The initial thought was that the key fob had been immobilized so that whilst in dispute over the bill we couldn't go up there in the dead of night and drive the car away. The Garage owner insisted he would never do such a thing. Hmmm, im not so sure !! We didn't have our spare key with us to try and had no time to speak further to the owner or try other solutions. We had to abandon the car in the field and hot foot it into London !!! He may or may not have immobilised car, we are unsure and Mr PG and I havent seen each other since to have a conversation about it. A quick google search suggested that if the car were damp ( it was soaking, looks like we have a leaky roof now !!) that may cause the problem. I believe Mr PG has since spoken again to the owner of the garage who thinks he has come up with a solution but when we can now go back is anyone's guess. So............the saga still continues.:rotfl::rotfl:

If I believed in the "big man in the sky " I would be asking him to give us a break right now !!!

Right that's my update for now, off to crack on . Hope you are all well xxx

  • Someone has paid the lovely sum of £9600 into our Current Account this morning ! :rotfl:

Such a shame the money isn't ours and a mistake has been made somewhere along the line.

For now though, I will make myself a cake and a cuppa and revel in the feeling of being quite rich................................. just until they discover their mistake , which will probably be in about 10 minutes time !! xx

Are you sure it's a mistake? Perhaps someone who owes you has paid up ;) I remember once getting nearly a thousand pounds paid into my account which was a mistake but the bank never took it back because it was their mistake? Not that I told them about it mind ;) I just kept stchum and didn't spend it for a while until I realised no one was coming back for it :rotfl: maybe you'll be as lucky with nearly 10x the amount :T

  • Wouldn't that be lovely ?!!! Nope, anyone who owes us money wouldnt pay into that account as its the current account. its all very strange.

I wont tell them, but obviously wont spend it either. It will be interesting to see how long it stays there before its noticed though !

For now I am still reveling in my wealth, time for another cake ! xx

  • I have fessed up. My guilt wouldn't allow me to enjoy my new found wealth any longer ! 4 hours was enough for me !

The money could be needed to pay for medical treatment or money an old lady needs to pay for a funeral for her husband. Anything really. Or just good old fashioned wages for someone to live on. Whatever it is for I am sure the person it is meant for really really needs it. I have googled the company that have paid it in but there are many out there with similar names and I am unsure exactly who they are, but I am as certain as I can be that the money is not meant for us.

I have told the bank, they seemed equally baffled...........and for now the money is still sitting in our account very happily indeed !! xx

Well, even if the bank eventually take it back, it'll make a small dent in any interest owed to the bank! Could you transfer it into a higher interest account until the bank decide who it belongs to?
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?
