I have just found your thread! So pleased I can see someone recently has got charges back fro MBNA. I have completed the first letter and had a letter back saying the charges are responsable at £12 and they consider it to be closed.....so I write back again I guess.

    :(

Yep, I have just done that on the one MBNA card that they have refused to even consider. Send them an LBA , but ask them again to reconsider even though they says its closed ! Let me know how you get on, I will be posting their response on here.

Good to see you Samtoby :)

Well, it seems ages since I wrote a long ( no doubt very boring post ), so feel free to wander off midway through if it all gets a bit much !

Thankyou you all for congrats on the ( not so tiny new signature!) and also for wishing the poor old girl better !!:D I must have looked such a sight yesterday, a stunning specimen in fluffy socks, top, DD1s thick lumberjack shirt, a furry hoodie and her gilet all while curled up indoors with a hot water bottle and the heating pumped up to 25.:o. The girls looked suitably embarrassed when their mum ,bearing a remarkable resemblance to a bag lady arrived to collect them from school. By the time I collected poor Mr Pinot from the station late last night I looked even worse. Fully expected him to open the car door, take one look at me and run a mile !! HE didnt, but I think thats cos he wanted his dinner ! Anyway still feel odd, but much better today :)

    So -

Girly night out on Monday with DD1 was lovely . We both really enjoyed the movie "Like Crazy". It was a bit arty farty ( you know the sort, fancy shots from behind the leaves of a tree and the like!), but we enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I fell off the wagon a bit, , DD2 was being fed at my sisters who was looking after her, and Mr Pinot was eating at work....so, we ended up in Wagamumas for a bowl of noodles. I wrestled with my conscience for ages and ages , but the thought of a lovely steaming hot bowl of Ramen overtook me and all rationality went flying out of the car window and whizzed off down the motorway !! It was sooo lovely , and I promise not to fall off of the wagon in february. Feel free to tell me off ! I decided that its not often DD1 and I get this opportunity ,so to grab it with both hands. Cinema was surprisingly empty, considering the tixs were free. DD1 nipped to the loo before the film started, then text me from the cubicles rather traumatised as she was stuck in between two women discussing their womanly "monthly issues " in rather graffic detail while DD1 was sitting quietly on the loo between them dying inside ! her text to me was something along the lines of "Help me,I hate Pubic Toilets !!" which made me laugh even louder. :rotfl:Her spelling mistakes were duly pointed out to her !! DD2, had a lovely evening getting spoilt at my sisters house, so all was good !

New contract started Monday and all going really well so far, it will be 3/4 days a week initially leaving us free to commit to our other clients. Mr Pinot is now on the tea rosta, so feeling part of the team already ! I'm today chasing up work for the gaps in between, but despite a quiet start to the year,we now have work solidly for at least the next few weeks ( no days off for us then :( ), so thats a big weight off of our minds, and then just a few gaps here and there until September :j. February will still be very tight, so I may need to pay only interest only on the mortgage but I will sit down and look properly at the figures. We have both the girls birthdays coming up fast also and a 5 day residential trip for DD2 to pay for, so lots happening and lots of money needs to be found.

Sold another box of CDs yesterday on Music Magpie for about £20 towards the F&F fund. I dont think I have many left to sell now, but we have made about £200. I'm sure if I had the patience to sit and list them individually we may have made more on ebay eventually, but I dont have that kind of time or patience, so this was a quick fix while decluttering in the process.:T

Paid another £80 to Mr Tax Man !! whoopee , only £4880.00 to go. They called again last Friday , but for a nice chat this time and are more than happy with the arrangement we have in place.

Listed more books on GreenMetropolis the other day, Ive only sold one so far, but you never know. It costs nothing to list them so they can just sit there until someone shows some interest. I still havent done the ebay listings, which is really bad as I have so much stuff to list.

Must get to the post office today to send back the letters to MBNA and the kick up the posterior letter to Black Horse.

Just had a huge important looking lorry pull up outside the house, with a lovely smiley man. I was beginning to think I had won the lottery as it was so official looking. I hadnt sadly, but he did bring me three huge packages from NW, which was the SAR I had requested from them ! My oh my, am I gonna have fun with that ! If I get my way, I may as well have won the lottery ! I Have text Mr Pinot and told him we are having an SAR Carpet Picnic, vino, pate, nice bread, olives ( can I afford those anymore ?!) and piles and piles of lovely bank documents.(We arent eating those though !) I know there is PPI in there somewhere and I am determined to make a Hardship Claim for Bank Charges. I know its a shot in the dark these days, but I have so much evidence that they knew our situation, emails and such like that I cant wait to get started !! I will keep you all posted of any developments !

Ok, well thats my long and boring post sorted for the day ! Hope you are all still awake ish ;).

Now I need to work and hopefully drop in on a few other diaries as I have been sadly neglecting them of late !

  • Great to hear the new contract is working well and that things are looking up.

I think you're doing a fantastic job re your debts and chasing banks/credit cards for PPI's etc. Every little helps.

Hope you and Mr PG enjoy the picnic, paperwork and pinot.

Congratulations on - well on EVERYTHING really! You're feeling better, the contract should see you fairly secure for a good few months, family life is going well and you are still so motivated with your finances. Even the tax man is on your side! The trip to Wagamama's was well-deserved; we all need a little treat from time to time. :):) x
