The answer is in my appalling typing !!!:)
Do your fingers not hurt when your nails are long though? I was sat at my desk yesterday tearing my nails off as they were hurting :( They're nice and short again now, although this does sometimes mean I tear off too much nail eep.

Ooh that must have been sooo painful ! No mine dont hurt as I must confess they arent really mine ! I have never been blessed with lovely strong , long nails, so I have the acrylic / gel nails done. She files them down quite short for me so they are comfortable and look far nicer than my horrible real nails.

I have been catching up on your diary by the way, but not had a chance to post, sorry x

No need to apologise, I tend to write whatever comes into my head so you don't have to read it all haha. Been trying to conserve my writing a bit today and try doing more work, but alas I've needed to rant haah.

  • Well the advice on my MBNA / Virgin charges reclaim seems to be as expected not to bother with FOS route. I need to re do the interest I was asking for as it appears I possibly havent actually asked for enough. So I will be on the case tomorrow with that one if I have time.

Sold my first book today, an email popped into my inbox to say it has been sold. I was very excited, such tiny things please me these days ! It was sold for £3.00, postage should be £1.00 so I have made the grand total of £2.00. Hardly going to make a big dent in my huuuuge debt, but I will leave it sitting in the Account and hope to sell more where it will accumulate, then I can put it to good use.

Mr Pinot is home again this evening. This is such a rarity and very hard to get used to. As lovely as it is, it has messed my routine up totally as he keeps talking to me !! Think I may need to find somewhere for him to go tomorrow or give him more jobs. He is currently cooking up a mean stirfry, the smell is wafting upstairs as I type. Just realised how hungry I am.

Tonight is manic revision night for DD1 exams this week. She has sat three already and thinks they went well, but she is feeling poorly this week which is a shame. She is desperately revising French which is not her strongest subject ( The Egyptian teacher, who speaks Spanish but barely any French and whose surname is Smith, doesnt really help !! Nor the teacher who speaks no French at all, so babysits the class and hands out the written work). Anyway going off on a tangent again, I now need to delve into the deepest darkest depths of my brain and try and help her get ready enough to sit the exam on Thursday ! DD2 decided to do her Numeracy homework her way which was very clever, with the correct answers, but not what the teacher will want to see. That will make for another interesting conversation with the school. Not wanting to wish her little life away, I cant wait for her to start secondary school !

Right off to eat my yummy dinner now

Hope a good evening is had by all x

  • Mr Pinot decided this evening he would be in the mood to answer the phone if it rang. It's been spookily quiet of late and the ringer has now been turned back on for the first time in about two years. Anyway it was Marks and Sparks , wanting me , but I was in French mode and didn't think they would fancy me attempting to cut a deal in pigeon French ! So far they have been sent 2 letters and 2 emails re our dmp but haven't yet responded. The debt is solely in my name and despite mr Pinot making it very clear he knew all about it they refused to discuss with him ( understandable obviously) he told them we wanted something in writing and off they went. By then dd2s ears were merrily flapping way ( the phone is something of a novelty in this house as its rarely answered!!) no more than 3 mins past when it rang again, mr Pinot answered full of enthusiasm and it was m&s again. He went through the whole saga again explaining he had literally just put the phone down , when she blurted out to him that everything I had asked for had been agreed but she wouldn't detail exactly what !! From that , we assume no more interest or charges and reduced payments accepted. They won't though , put it in writing until I have spoken to them. Will do that tomorrow, but hopefully sounds like more good news from the creditors.

French revised and learnt, think I may have memorised more than dd1 as she was half asleep .........cest la vie !!

Mr Pinots stir fry was yummy, we have leftovers which dd2 has bagsied for school lunch tomorrow . She's not a lover of sandwiches so takes all sorts of concotions to school!

Apologies for yet another long post, hope you have managed to stay awake ! X

    Hi PG

Lovely diary, have read it all and subscribed. Great potential news re M&S, onwards and upwards hey. You and Mr P are doing brilliantly.

PS also 'nice' (iyswkm!) to see someone on here with a huge mortgage too:o we do try and overpay but it takes a lot of cash every month just with the required repayments...

  • Hello and thankyou for subscribing! Always lovely to hear of other mad people with huge mortgages ! It started out much smaller but after being advised to re mortgage re mortgage re business debts we ended up with this lovely figure!! But........... No time Like the present to get this old mess sorted and I do love my home and will do our utmost to hang onto it . Our mortgage repayments, although huge were manageable , but combined with the minimum repayments to our creditors which were £2500 a month , it was something we just couldn't maintain any longer. Oh how I wish I had done ths years ago instead of putting it all off!

Just dropped in quickly on your dary, it looks great. I will catch up fully in the next few days, but just want to say thank you for reading.

  • Bit later than usual coming on here today, my head is literally whizzing, more than usual to be honest. Woke up this morning with the bright idea of not only working all day and school meetings tonight and babysitters to organise, that I would paint the kitchen. In for a penny in for a pound.:rotfl:

So the day has gone as follows -

Get Girls off to School - collect another child en route .

Call my mum to check on my dad, hes much better and doesnt need to be seen for another 6 months all being well :D.

Work, work, work - Picked up a few more days for January and also some for Feb - June. July and August are already covered with a contract, so been a good day. Just need a few more days this month and we can breath again. Should definately hear back on the other contract by tomorrow apparently. Final decision being made today.

Run hoover round the house and empty bins - boring stuff!!_

Check how much left over paint we had from the hall, only half a tin, so
went to Homebase to buy more. Paid with Nectar Points :)

Cleared out cupboard of glasses, I appear to have a rather unhealthy glass obsession so some were delegated to the re-cycling leaving more cupboard space which I am desperate for.

Took kitchen blinds down - googled for new blinds but managed to hold back on buying any, but they were out of stock so I think that helped. Must keep up the willpower though and put old ones back up after a clean !

Meet DD1 and friend from school, bring home as off on GCSE school trip this evening( right in the middle of exam week , how stupid)

Go back out get DD2 after netball club, she is late, so had to leave her at school, go back for DD1 and friend take them back to school then collect DD2 from a friend who had then collected her for me.

    Come home, carry on painting.

Write this, now off to drop DD2 at a friends so I can go to a meeting at DD1 school. Come home and collect DD2 en route.

Go back out at 11pm to collect DD1 from trip, then pour cold wine and collapse in a heap surrounded by paint and rollers, no doubt questioning exactly what possessed me to start decorating today !

On the money side, not got around to calling Marks and Sparks back. :(

Had a NSD though, although I really fancy a kebab for tea, not had time to cook and not had a kebab in years ! Will report back on that one later :)

Now I must dash, apologies for boring post about my manic day !

Hope everyones day been good x
