As for "thieving off the rest of us", that isn't true at all.Or are you suggesting that if there were no fiddles going on, the government would increase the benefits across the board?
I can understand you not wanting to get involved in reporting benefit fraud, but using these reasons to justify your actions is nonsense.0 -
i know people that work in the private sector that haven't had a pay rise for three years. i don't see why benefit claimants shouldn't share some of the pain.
Maybe because it was formally agreed and accepted that benefits WILL rise at the same rate as inflation.
Now that that doesn't suit anymore because benefit claimants will get too much of an increase, they want to change the agreement.
No different that what they are doing with Civil Service Pensions.
Everybody agreed what should happen, then the government want to undo that agreement.
We already have had to endure the change by which the civil service pension increases have been reduced because it suits the government to use the CPI instead of the RPI. Why? Because it means a lower increase in pension.
Don't trust any politician!!!
Maybe they haven't had a payrise for 3 years, but they sure as damn it are still earning more than those on benefits are.
And what about the 49% increases paid to the boards of the top 100 companies?0 -

they also contibute more to society than people on benefits. maybe people get a little fed working and paying tax so that a section of society can take it easy.
i've no problem with society giving a helping hand when people are down etc. however a fair amount of benefit claimants are taking the p1ss.0 -
The program aimed to expose benefit fraudsters. There followed emotive stories of yachts, expensive cars and so on. All well and good, but where were the stories about DWP staff who have been caught fiddling and then allowed to keep their jobs? Much juicier, I would have thought.
Or perhaps that didn't quite fit the agenda?"Never underestimate the mindless force of a government bureaucracyseeking to expand its power, dominion and budget"Jay Stanley, American Civil Liberties Union.0 -

Dont forget you can be working and claim DLA. You can be disabled and hold down a job too although at times it can be a struggle believe me I know, as there are times I feel like giving up work to have a life and concentrate of health.0

They can't afford to contribute more to society. If they increased benefits then I am sure they would be happy to pay tax & NIC.
Who said being sick, disabled, pensioners and unemployed is a life of taking it easy?
For a start we have 3m unemployed - they can claim JSA, we have millions that are sick and disabled - they can claim DLA & ESA, we have millions that are over pension age - they can claim the AA, OAP & Pension Credit. All of those are genuine claimants!0 -

How do I know?
Apart from bar staff they would probably be charging at least £40 per hour, bar staff, maybe £7 per hour.0 -

So did I surprisingly.
I see far too many drive up, park on double yellow lines and put up the blue badge, then out come two youngsters more than capable of walking.
Do I lend my wife my blue badge? Yes of course I do - who doesn't?
But she doesn't use it on the public highway, only in supermarkets, hospitals etc.0
