UPS UKASH UKCASH Gumtree Scam and scams in general

Just found out my Squat rack will not be arriving. Was told that the squat rack would be arriving between 9 and 10 this morning, and that they were doing through Parcelforce because they could.
Your mind hears best case scenario, yeah they know someone looking to earn a few extra quid on their day off, and yeah people want rid of stuff sharpish and £75 for a second hand squat rack (equivalent new £160) is not amazing good or amazingly bad.
Alarm bells should have rang when the corner shop guys said no cards, cash only for this.
The phone number given does not want to work Pamelasip 7263 52747, (not enough numbers) and no response to email.
Gumtree, parcelforce and UKash have all been involved and will be involved again, and we should do our best to make it known that we have been fooled so that others are not and that these companies involved are shown up and embarassed into doing something about this.0 -

So sorry to hear you've also been conned by this scum. Please report it via the actionfraud website. I have just updated my report to them with the details he/she is now using which another person has posted on another forum. The more people who report it, the more likely they are going to get caught.Worst Debt November 2005 £11,089.80:eek:Quidco since November 2006 £969.31:TPROUD TO BE CLEAR OF MY DEBTS :money:0 -
the scammer is now using a name Pamela Hogan!BEWARe! selling mountain hardwear trango 3 tent!
Very nearly got caught out with this scam.
Pamela hogan selling a Gibson studio guitar on gum tree fo £330
Exactly the same email structure as before - please buy a ukase voucher and email a scanned copy of it to parcel force.
I very nearly lost the money. Alarm bells started ringing when I went to my local shop to get the voucher "just be careful, there are a lot of scams with these vouchers" the guy in the shop said
Anyway I came home with £330 in ukash vouchers and upon close inspection on the voucher it states. Never email or telephone anyone with the voucher code, treat these as if they were cash.
So I called ukase and asked them if parcel force was a supplier ? No they said.
So here I am with £330 worth of ukash vouchers sitting on my desk.
I suppose I will have to apply for a ukash MasterCard, load my vouchers onto it and withdraw the cash!
Could have been worse0 -

Hello, I was very very nearly scammed by these people today, they were using the alias Pamela Horn, had a google + account with convincing photos. Below is a post of our full conversation (her half, you can imagine mine haha). Very similar to previous accounts. I was very lucky in that I had bought a £200 voucher and was prepared to send off my scan of the photo. Only then did I notice that the email address for 'Parcelforce Worldwide' was actually [at]post.com. Then googled Ukash parcelforce and found this forum.

Of course, nothing goes according to plan Unfortunately I've just got called into the office so very busy till next week, hectic lifestyle. However, back at work we have some shipments for large items with parcelforce all week long. Just thought it would save you time and hassle if I'll send it along with them free of charge hihi company benefits .
I asked around and it seems you can pay cash upon delivery/inspection. It's quite simple since they're able to wait for you to check it out, if not as described they can just void the shipment with no extra charge.
If that's alright with you I'll need a name, address, contact number and also date&time suitable for the delivery.
Second option - if you want to pop in and collect you'll have to wait till next week or so when hopefully I'll get my head around.
Let me know either way. No need to worry If my reply is delayed since I'm just having fun working long hours ... or not )

Great, I've just finished filling out the forms online and scheduled the delivery for Wednesday am, 9-10am ( at your end). Parcel Force will also handle the payment. If you'll accept and sign for the parcel the driver will then leave you a receipt and bac's me afterwards. They sent out an email notification on how to proceed. Did you received it ? Check your spam or junk folder as well, maybe it got caught in there.
Let me know if you have any queries, I'll be glad to help out!
Pam
Fourtunately for me I didnt send the voucher and instead put £200 into a bet365 account and bet on a Peruvian football team that were winning 4-0 in the 83rd minute against a team with only 10 men =]. Only 8 hours after buying the stupid voucher and I managed to gain an extra £10 for my gambling efforts :rotfl:, made an account just to post this for the benefit of the rest of you guys, who these scumbags are trying to con.0 -
Has anyone reported The Ikea Varde - Pamela Hogan scam to Gumtree ? my husband and i didn't read small print and got carried away to the sum of £150. I reported it to Gumtree and have done so 4 times since and they are still allowing it on the site. If anyone else has been conned by this one since i reported it you can probably do something through trading standards as they are now aiding the cuprit !
They have been worse than useless and have only responded to the first email to say it was removed. It makes me think that they are involved too.0 -
Almost got caught myself by the same seller (Pamela Hogan) on Gumtree for a £100 futon but a lot of things sounded too good to be true and when I received the last 'parcelforce' email asking me to purchase a UKASH voucher to pay for it, I googled it, found this forum and glad I did. Will report it to the action fraud website. Cheers everyone0

I am ashamed to say that i too have unfortunaley fallen prey to this scam
. I lost £130 yesterday morning trying to purchase a corner sofa. Had an iffy feeling to start with but pursued, should have listened to my gut instinct. I wish i had seen this forum before but i am glad i have now as i don't feel alone, i have reported it to action fraud and gumtree. I have brought so much online for many years and successfully brought an item from gumtree recently but it's safe to say i have lost my confidence now. I only hope the more people that report, the more chance there is of stopping this utter lowlife once and for all.

Been scammed by this lady too. I so wish I'd seen this thread before.
I'm pregnant and tried to buy a cot for my baby, wasn't cheap at £190 but was reasonable enough price. It was a Parcelforce UKASH usual thing but paid by Visa card for the voucher, any chance of help through them?
It was Pamela Hogan from Norwich, very friendly, perfect English wording no clue of a scam at all. She even has a Google+ profile showing photos, all very convincing. pamela75hogan@gmail.com.
I cannot believe we fell for this, sounded and looked so convincing. I trust the mods will leave the details on here to warn others.
If anyone has any advice on who exactly to report this to (I know we don't tand much chance of getting our money back but I'd feel better reporting it) then I'd like to know.
Seems so cruel scamming parents to be trying to buy a second hand cot0
