Thats not far off BNA rates tbh, the agencies that are used to care for people in the community cost loads. Its not just the carer they have to pay.0 -
Amazed that anyone on this thread thinks that there are not some carers ( or rather care agencies) who recieve 550 a week, for people who need a lot of care- round the clock care- thats the cost of it.
For residents are not mobile, cannot eat alone, need significant help in washing, cleaning themselves, toileting, moving, sitting, drinking. Shopping and preparing basic food, dealing with GPs & getting prescriptions, running errands.
:wall::beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Actually I do understand that an my heart goes out to them that needs the care and the carer but that should be a choice the carer makes, and I would do it for hubby or kids in a whisper, money wouldnt come into it.
Where's the choice when you give birth to a child who will be dependant on you all it's life because of it's disabilities and the Father can't cope so leaves?
I don't mean to be insulting so I hope this doesn't come across as being so, but I do think you don't have a full understanding of what being a 24/7 carer actually means, especially in cases where the carer cannot work because of the dependant person and therefore has no other income. It's largely a life of drudgery both emotionally and financially for many. It's not a lifestyle choice many would opt for.Herman - MP for all!
