Not quite right..... It was I who said that if a wife/husband did not give up their job to care for someone full time (for £55 a week) it would cost the government almost 10x that amount to pay outsiders.

Interesting however that someone who leaves a well paid job for £55 a week is a scammer in your eyes. Wouldnt the point of a scam be to profit in some way?

I dont want to live in your world where scammers lose £300 a week but gain £55.

Actually I do understand that an my heart goes out to them that needs the care and the carer but that should be a choice the carer makes, and I would do it for hubby or kids in a whisper, money wouldnt come into it.

Just to clarify, there is the world of difference between someone who is a full time carer and someone who carries out the odd errand/post office trip/hospital appointment/grocery shop/change of light bulb, etc etc for eldely relatives.

savings insurance police and did say we were older parents so do have a private pension, hubby has a war pension (oops is that a bad word)not yet, we are old but the pensions are looking good
