Evening all.
My friendly local garage were able to spot weld the clutch pedal bracket so not too costly a repair. Car was booked in for an engine flush and oil and filter change too - the whole lot came in at £200.
The bank credited my account with £70 compensation today, so that will go some way towards the garage bill.
Could be worse, could be worse!
Thank Crunchie it's Friday tomorrow!

Evening all:)
JulieG............so exciting that Roo is keeping busy.........I think that the loud cheers that will be issued when lil roo arrives could crash the MSE site:rotfl:
166million You will get out of debt so don't give up hope, so many times I was close and then something major would happen and we would be ten steps backwards:( but on we plod and now just over five years on we are DF, though I still fear that dreaded emergency but whatever happens its the change in attitudes and habits that is the real prize and that will keep me going.
Samtoby I hope the job works out for you and well done for having the courage........not sure i would have been able. I will keep my fingers crossed for you:)
BIB good news about the bank and the car and I like your positive attitude because you are right it could always be worse, i like to try and find the positive in everything, doesn't always happen but I do try and it really helps:)
Now I'm going to make myself look really stupid by asking what is the debt free chat of the week?:o
Haven't done much today MSE related mainly just did a big clean......is nesting catching:rotfl: but I have a very busy friday and saturday planned so hopefully half my list will be done by the start of next week:j
Did find a great little shop that recently opened near me. It sells all sorts from food, tights, cleaning products etc but all the food is near or just past sell buy date so really cheap. Picked up a taco dinner kit, salsa included for 50p:eek: and 4 packets of walkers crisps for 50p DS1 likes baxters soup but they are normally sooo expensive but it was 3 for £1 and they are in date till end of feb. I have a funny feeling the deals in there may be influencing my meal planning :rotfl:Success means having to worry about every thing in the world......EXCEPT MONEY. Johnny Cash

QueenB - Debt Free Chat of the Week is the thread highlighted in the weekly MSE email.
Thanks for your comments about positive attitude. You only have to wander onto one or two other threads to realise how desperate and terrible some people's situations are - often through no real fault of their own!
Looking forward to the weekend now - first week back is always the worst. Got a bit of a cheek moaning tho' 'cos it's now only 4 weeks 'til the mid-term break - (accomodation for which all sorted in the Travelodge £12 sale) - result!! I love moneysaving!!
Take care all,
