If spreadsheets are not your thing but you want to track pots etc try using Microsoft Money or Quicken. They mirror all accounts in real life once set up and you can run reports of what and where you spent in what time etc etc. Also has a budget feature.

I do have a spreadsheet but it is totally simple Money In, Money out, whats left :-)

  • Yes you can, I thought this too. I opened a current account with them last year with no incoming salery. They charge £10 a month for the account UNLESS you have a qualifying product (I have some savers account with a balance of £1 in it) so I don't use the account and just transfer £300 into it each month and from there it goes into the regular savers account.

Call them and they will advise you!

And now because I am recommending my husband to have an account and regular savers they will give me £50 :)

AMAZING! Thank you so much for your help.

Am feeling like I'll never be out of debt. I have worked so hard to get to this point, when , with one month to go I have a car which might be broken - will have to borrow money for fixing it - also when I have finished paying 'my' debts, have agreed to help my partner pay his. Just want everything to run smoothly with no extra expense! Will it ever happen!?

166million: don't give up! You will get there, even though it might feel like it's never going to happen, it will in the end, and it will be worth the wait. I hope the car's not too expensive and I hope your OH is really on board with reducing debts too. Good luck :)

Every month I end up with some kind of expense. And I need a new tyre. I have an Audi A3 and these are not cheap; I just try and focus on how much I have achieved more than what I have not or can't change. And keep logging on here. Go on the debt forums that helps me; that was me and makes me feel proud. x

  • 166 I felt like that... it took me 7 years to get out of debt! But you know you do get there, and when you do the journey will be worth it :)

Dizzy he has to change move his SO and DD and have his wages paid into his account. But if he does that... he get's £100!

Sam Same here! Every month it's something...
