Aly - please don't leave - you don't need fancy spreadsheets to find a home here (although a lot seem to).
Compared to others mine is dead straightforward and simple - just one sheet; no tabs.
It's scary venturing into debt-freedom-ness - in my experience it takes a bit of trial and error to find out what works for you.
I still change the way I do things a little from time to time - but on the whole I've settled on a way that works for me.
On another note - my bank have just offered me £70 compensation for firstly providing incorrect address details to all 3 CRAs. (my ex-husband's address, NOT mine!) and secondly locking me out of both online AND telephone banking for no apparent reason - they just could not explain why this had happened.
So frustrating!
So pleased to have made "Debt Free chat of the Week!".

I find that a visual of what I have spent is excellent fro stopping my spends. I am very proud that I have stayed debt free even for a few months and actually SAVED!
I hope little Roo is en-route.
I loved being a SAHM for a couple of years. I miss it but Toby is at school now and his dad spends every day after school until 5 with him anyway so no reason not to work anymore. I get my weekends with Toby which to me is quality time even if its cleaning the car and making cakes. x3 Children - 2004 :heart2: 2014 :heart2: 2017 :heart2:

Once my children are at school I'll be going back to work part time. I couldn't stay home. But by the time Roo number 2 is here and at school, we are talking 6 or 7 years. We hope the PT will pay for extras like days out during school holidays. I like to dream...We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I am just too excited about the possibility of having my own home. My own front door and walls I can paint and floors I can carpet the way I want. I want to be able to say I did it all myself.
I felt this way about 5/6/7 years ago. I have now had my own front door etc for the past 4 years and I still have the carpets and wallpaper that were here when I moved in! :rotfl: Just can't afford to do anything to it. Still, it is mine and I love itMortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

Thanks for all the spreadsheets. I think I may just start with a spending spreadsheet and go from there. I wont list individual food bought but will list it as 'groceries' 'toiletries' etc.
So many ideas going through my head right now. Frustrating that I can't open the First Direct account as 8% for regular savings is a great rate. My salary just isn't high enough. Grrr.LBM February 2008. DFD March 2013 19 August 2011Debt at LBM £14,395.48. Debt Now £00 -

Yes you can, I thought this too. I opened a current account with them last year with no incoming salery. They charge £10 a month for the account UNLESS you have a qualifying product (I have some savers account with a balance of £1 in it) so I don't use the account and just transfer £300 into it each month and from there it goes into the regular savers account.
Call them and they will advise you!
And now because I am recommending my husband to have an account and regular savers they will give me £50
