Morning everyone
.... had a bit of spreadsheetitis last night.
Still tweaking budgets and trying to work out how to "fix" them.
Some are easy as figures are known for the year (eg car, boiler & pet insurance as they've just renewed, car tax, breakdown cover, tv licence etc) but struggling to set a definitive figure for some of the others.
I've allowed a slight increase on most utilities / household bills - but now wondering if these are enough ..... although I want to be as frugal as poss, I also don't want to set unrealistic targets that, if I fail to stick to, will make me feel like a failure!
Any suggestions?Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
2016 Sell: £125/£250
£1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000

I have done exacly the same thing, what I have done is look at my own personal averages and the national % rise and then create my own figure i thought would be realistic. For example I have added an extra £100 to my present car insurance cost taking into account that most renewal quotes have risen over the last few months (and how much i would be willing to pay). Hopefully I have overestimated:D If you are worried about unrealistic targets maybe just add a small extra increase such as £10/£20 and if worse happens then have your emergency pot to cover. I hope this all makes sense as its saturday morning and I had an exhausting Friday so not quite awake yet:rotfl:
I wish I had thought about the lottery ticket idea, did anyone win anything?Success means having to worry about every thing in the world......EXCEPT MONEY. Johnny Cash

Sadly, Friday 13th was not lucky for me on the lottery front. Hope others had more luck!
I had such a wierd dream. My car broke down, so I found a hotel to stay at, I then suddenly I had a baby with me that could count from 3 to 14 (but 1 and 2 were never mentioned and it always stopped at 14), and then an old boyfriend appeared.
I have no idea any of that means but I'm sure an analyst would have a field day... such a good job this site has a level of anonymity to itI myself am made entirely of flaws, stitched together with good intentions...0 -

That's what I did last night & it's added around £500 to my annual expenditure:eek: but I have added quite a bit extra to my "anything else" budget - there are a couple of big (for me) spends needed this year in the form of a garden shed (approx £150) and butterfly table & chairs (aiming/budgeted for £150 but could be £200) and wanted to have these budgeted for.
Both essential from MS point of view in that I'll be able to grow more veg etc if I've somewhere to store planters etc over the winter .... and I've nowhere for my sewing machine atm (free*cycled the old kitchen table & chairs to make room for a donated kitchen dresser which was badly needed for storage).Little_bit_dizzy wrote: »I had such a wierd dream. mmmmm strange Dizzy as I had a horrific dream last night - really, really horrible. Woke up in the middle of the night & just couldn't get back to sleep as was so freaked out - I've put it down to something I watched on TV last night as it had some similarities ...... it just unfortunately happened to people I know in my dream:(Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

If this isn't a real word in the Oxford English Dictionary, it should berising_from_the_ashes wrote: »mmmmm strange Dizzy as I had a horrific dream last night - really, really horrible.
