  • Hello - great to see so many people here, especially so many with OCD and "rounding" tendencies!!

Someone - (can't remember who) said earlier on in the thread that they can actually just sit and look at their spreadsheets for ages - not fiddle with them, or tweak them - just look at them. That made me laugh. You really wouldn't confess to that in "real life" would you? People would start backing away!! - but this is definitely something I do!

Mixed week this week. Clutch pedal bracket in the car snapped on Monday (boo)! However the garage say it can be spot-welded and shouldn't be too expensive (hurray!). Then I thought the sound on my tv had gone (boo)! My youngest daughter came downstairs and turned it up on the tv itself rather than via the remote (whoops)!

Youngest daughter turned 12 today, and it seems about 10 seconds since I had her - it is amazing how the years zoom past.

Off to get some sleep - this back to work lark is a bit tiring!!

    Take care all.

Haha! That was my signature!! A friend of mine wrote that in an email... I told her i had been spending time on my spreadsheets and this was what i got back...
I have been staring at spreadsheets too, isn't it s great past time? Most past times costs people money, but spreadsheet staring is one hobby that actually SAVES money ;)

    It made me giggle :D

  • Morning everyone.

Woke up earlier than usual today, feeling really revitalised, energised and raring to go. First thought of the day. "whoo-hoo, doing my credit file today"... Not sure what this says about me!!!

Hope everyone's well this morning, BiB bad / good news about the car, bad / good news about the telly :D
I myself am made entirely of flaws, stitched together with good intentions...

My mum said to me that I would think the time had gone fast as Toby got older.

I have a spread sheet for my savings but I am litrally trying to push as much money in so I am watching all my pennies.

My Mum always cooks from scratch and goes to charity shops for so many of her bits in her house; clothes, gadgets and accessories. That is probably why my Mum has no debt has no issues with credit and is mortgage free!x

  • I am still here for my sins...

I say down and did the next 'block' of menu plans and shopping lists! Jeeze louise I am all planned until 22nd March!

Mad That’s the key… when you get so bad into debt and you fight your way out of it… you realise you appreciate what you do have so much more!

Dizzy I thought you were doing your goals today??? I have to admit I need to look at my credit files, I need to find out how to ‘disassociate’ myself financially from my Ex on my credit files (He’s got no debts… too lazy to get his own bank account! But we had a joint loan until recently which I couldn’t get out of)! Any ideas anyone??? Do I just need to write to each credit company? How do you get a cheap copy of your credit files??

Sam Don’t you hate it when mums are right?!?!? I know I do! And well done to your mum, she should be proud of what she’s achieved :D

I said something like that too:

My spreadsheet has 5 pages and I check it every single day, even when there is no change to it. I sometimes just like to sit and stare at it.

I didn't even feel stupid when I said it on here (until now!) but, yes, I wouldn't actually admit that in "real life". I have hinted at it to my sister and she hinted at me being loopy and she knows me better than anyone else!!

    Gap
    Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
    Mortgage today = £161,690.76
    300 271 payments to go.

  • Me me me! I'm finding it harder now I'm debt free to stick to a budget than it was when I had no spare cash at all! I keep finding myself going "Oh go on, you can afford it now!" and buying stuff. Not the intention as I wanted to start saving!

Me too. I put a certain amount into savings every month but find myself dipping into it all the time as it's money I think I can spend. How do I make myself realise that if it's in this account I can't touch it? And if I don't have the money then don't spend it?

I'm not back in debt yet anyway, so that's a good thing.

The only credit I use is a credit card which is paid off in full each month (Tesco clubcard one - used for the points) and a couple of catalogues which are paid off the moment I've decided I'm going to keep the clothes.

  • Oh just wanted to add I think I will fit in well here - I already have the OCD but with the debt.

I hate it when one of my balances is like £???0.67 or £??.25!!!

I always used to make additional wee payments to always round it down but kinda reigned it in & just always round my payment up now to the nearest £ when I'm making payments - means it will be paid of albeit a tiny but sooner haha!
