dollyrocker - did it take you long for your credit limi with Very to go up?

My Mum is always right abou everything. I am going to take her roudn when I look at properties. I want her to say this is the right property and I know it is right. I love the way my Mum uses things she did for me like games and toys that were mine as a child and now my son uses them.

I have put a request on another page for an MSE App then I could follow these great threads ALL DAY! x

    You'll never look back :D:D:D:D:D

Dizzy I thought you were doing your goals today???

    Drum roll please........Laie_28.gifLaie_28.gifLaie_28.gif

    I eventually got there!!!

    HOME
    • Remove fir trees from the side of the garden and replace with new fence panels
    • Decorate at least 2 rooms. One will be the bathroom and the other will be confirmed.
    WEIGHT & HEALTH
    • Lose 42lbs by the end of the year
    • Give up the fags. (So far so good - last one was on Sat 7th Jan. Only 4 days, but it's a start)
    • Have at least 3 alcohol free days per week 2.gif
    ME, MYSELF & I
    • Make time to read more
    • Make time to cross stich more
    • Worry less about things I can't change & care less about things which don't matter and aren't important
    • Make more time for me & DH Laie_23.gif
    MONEY & FINANCES
    • Remain debt free
    • Keep the focus. Being DF does not mean I can afford everything!
    • Utilise full 2012 / 2013 ISA allowance. Never actually done this!
    • Stick to grocery budget of £40.00 per week.
    • Maintain my spreadsheets and charts. It's not geeky - it's clever clap.gif
    MSE
    • Give support and encouragement to others as they have given to me
    • Provide my MSE 'family' (that's you guys!) with updates and honest feedback. I know they won't judge me if I slip up, mock me for 'rounding' or laugh at my OCD ways.

  • Michelle Regular Savers is the key … you only get a decent interest payout (8%) IF you don’t touch it for a year (save £25 - £300 a month)… it’s there for emergencies (real ones) otherwise you risk up to £156 (£124 after tax) in interest if you touch it, because they give you 0.1% instead!

Dolly I think trying to sort your debts and the journey to becoming debt free is what makes us OCD! If they put that in the small print on any loan application maybe more people would avoid debt :D

Sam Can I have your mum? I have a subscription by email… keeps me up to date on this thread! I just love it :D

Dizzy Well done on your goals… I love them! Especially about the MSE part :D

I feel I can be myself on this thread… I just feel so normal!

  • Can I ask everyone what spreadsheets they have please? I have a monthly budget spreadsheet but nothing more specific (i.e. spending diary), I just try and keep within the limits I have set myself. I want to be more geeky about this so would like to know what others do.

  • Michelle I have a spreadsheet which shows each account:

    1) Current
    2) Current - Bills (DD and SO)
    3) Savings Account (for all my 'pots')
    4) Credit Cards - Spending Diary (paid off in full)
    5) ISA

Then I break down some of the pots further (ie. Car Fund is broken down into MoT, Service, Tax, Breakdown and Insurance)

I then have a page with all useful info on it (card contact numbers incase my purse gets stolen, contact numbers and accound numbers for gas/electric, water etc etc)

The pages for monitoring my gas/electric usage, birthdays/christmas', weight, food menu and shopping lists, grocery spends...

Oh and a Calander so I know when the school holidays are and when DS goes to his dad's etc which helps with meal planning!
