I think modist houses are normally band C or D), Home Content and Buildings Insurance (I've been quoted £35), Water (£45 not on a meter... I hope this goes down when I move as that's on a meter) and then if you buy you need Life Insurance too.
Just a quick comment re the life insurance ..... not always necessary - probably a good idea if you've got dependents but depending on where you work, you may have cover provided by your employer. We get a death in service "benefit" (seems a bit odd to put it like that:p) of 4 x annual salary. For me, that's enough to pay off my mortgage should the worst happen .....
That B&C quote's on the high side - I only pay £15. If you used comparison sites, try the non-comparison companies too (eg D*irect Line, A*viva etc) as I often find they have better prices. HTHJulieGeorgiana wrote: »Eliza and I are both sick with a cold at the moment

I figure the B&C is really high, the quote is with my current Content provider (I pay £7 at the moment) and I will be getting many more quotes before I am finished.
My Mortgage doesn't require life insurance, we decided to get that ourselves anyway, and the will is to make sure that the children are looked after.
I know the giggles are so cute

Thanks Rising... DS was Crucifer, I think he looks great in his Robe too. I'm going to frame this in the christening photo frame I bought Eliza for her Christening.
Eliza and I made thank you cards this week, everyone got a footprint, Eliza and I made some mess making them... 16 foot prints!!!We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY TOO!
Samtoby - I'm the same position... I really have to start looking now for a place... cos this year is flying by and it wont be too long before I am gonna have a mindful of bill questions and what to expect being a very proud home owner!
Well I hope everyone has a nice weekend! The weather here was horrendous yesterday, but the sun is sneaking a peep through the clouds this morning, so I am hoping that the weatherman is wrong again and that we end up having a nice, warm, bright and sunny weekend..... maybe it is time for me to stop daydreaming... lol0 -
Hi all - are you having as much trouble viewing and posting on this site as I am?
To the extent that you just don't have the time/can't be bothered?
This site really turned my life around but the hanging, delays, freezing etc just makes it unviable to visit anymore.
Despite umpteen posts on the site feedback board there doesn't seem to be any definitive answer.
So sad.

BiB It takes me ages to get the site to load but ... touch wood ... once I'm logged in, it seems to be working OK.
All made a total t*i*t*s up of the budgets this month - maybe trying 2 new things together (combining multiple pots and transferring money as I spend it, rather than when I get the cc bill) was a bit optimistic!
Unfortunately as I've closed the now redundant pots, I can't see what I have transferred to try to sort it out.
I also think I've gone a bit wrong as I put money into various pots as to where the budgets "should be" by now .... and as I didn't have anything in them - I've technically overspent (by a fair bit) IYKWIM.
So .... May will need to be a very tight month!
This budgeting lark's still proving VERY difficult to master!Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

BiB this site freezes my whole computer each time I log in, if I try my mobile (which is why I used to post so much) I get a pay from 6 weeks ago, and it crashes out each time I go to the latest page... so I can only access in online, which I never did/or do very often
Rising I'm sorry to hear the difficulties you've been having, and I hope you sort it out soon, I know what it's like to changes things and confuse yourself
All The mortgage company are doing my head in, seriously!!!! First the extend my mortgage after agreeing it, then they come back for more bank statements proving rent, now they want this months payslip and corresponding bank statements (even though we don't get paid until MONDAY!!)
So now I have to try and locate a printer and get it all posted once my statement is available online! Grrrrr!
Good note, I found a C&B insurance quote at £23.23 (as opposed to £35.25 with my current provider) £2 a month is for paying monthly, Hurumph, not sure I can afford to pay yearly, I never have before and always got 0% on monthly payments... very confusing, will have to work something out to try and pay in full :SWe spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I've *found* £40 that I'd *lost* - couldn't figure out why the cats pot only had £20+ in it, when I knew there should be £60+ in there ..... I'd transferred the amounts as I spent them and again when the bill came in (which is what I usually do):o.
If I've done that for every budget - no wonder I'm in such a mess:mad: - def going back to a once a month transfer!;)JulieGeorgiana wrote: »All The mortgage company are doing my head in, seriously!!!! Grrrrrr if it's any consolation, they're all the same! When I was doing mine at the end of last year, I provided everything required & they *$%£" around so long they then wanted the next months payslip (which wasn't available for another week!)JulieGeorgiana wrote: »Good note, I found a C&B insurance quote at £23.23 (as opposed to £35.25 with my current provider) £2 a month is for paying monthly, Hurumph, not sure I can afford to pay yearly, I never have before and always got 0% on monthly payments... very confusing, will have to work something out to try and pay in full :S
mmmm I've just done a quote online (due to renew in May) and it's more than double what I'm paying now  - really hoping I can find cheaper!
This is one of the few bills I actually pay annually atm - mainly as I got a huge quote last year, found ones substantially cheaper online (but not co's I wanted to go with IYKWIM) and called my existing provider who agreed to match but only if it was paid in a lump sum (at that point, on the cc:o) - but I have been putting amounts away to pay this year - but certainly can't afford double!:eek:Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
