The aerobics bit can be harsh on the knees. If you're feeling it then ease up or wear support. Check it out on youtube before you buy. Still £5 at amazon.

Is it very hard on the knees?

Looking for a good body toner/ shaper, is this what I need?

You'd be better off looking at resistance weight training if you want to tone and shape. This type of HIIT is for shredding fat (along with a healthy clean eating plan of course as exercise alone won't shift fat ;) )

As previous posters have said this is a good workout in 20+ mins. I managed it in my lounge - just enough room for an exercise mat.
My knees are past their best but I find the squats and lunges (although v.hard at first) do help them overall.

bought this on amazon, waiting for it to be delivered, but I don't have a lot of room, basically the space of a yoga mat, will that be too small a space?

Been doing this a few days now, it is getting easier, but the squats do hurt my knees, started to do a few of the harder moves where I can.

Don't know if am just mega unhealthy but I cant even get through level 1. Its takes me a couple days until am able to do the 20minutes. Its not the squats or anything thats difficult I just cant keep up stamina wise. I don't understand it I walk most places a good 2-3miles a day with my dog so surely can't be that unhealthy. Tried to do Nell Mcandrew's Ultimate Challenge and found it was to easy and boring.
It does work you can feel the burn the day afterwards and a youtuber AModelRecommends who actually been a model for many years professionally uses it before photoshoots to get in shape.

I've completed 30 Day Shred before (still proud of myself that I did all 30 consecutive days and didn't give up or skip any days!). I did the same sort of exercise to you when I started, and I did find that for the first couple of days or so I was having to stop for a breather before I could carry on. You do really, really have to push yourself and it feels like you're dying but as she says that's when you get the most benefit from it. After the first three or four days it began to get easier because I was getting fitter. Try it again :)

I found at the point where I would have been thinking "Oh I can manage this" it was when it was time to move up a level so that's actually starting to get too easy and not giving you as much benefit. I do think if you're not getting into a sweaty knackered mess then you're not exercising properly!

You do notice that you're getting fitter, at the very start I'd never have been able to do any Level 3 but by the end I could. And even though I wasn't specifically following the healthy eating plan (I'm one who thinks "I've exercised, so now I'm allowed cake") I did notice a real difference in me at the end compared to the start.

Edit - Oh yes, I remember. In the first few days, it will remove your ability to walk down stairs. You can still go up them, but you can't go back down anymore.
  • Anyone else recently started this?

I've been doing the shred for the last three days, after a friend has had great results. Have seen a difference in my endurance already! Energy levels are great. Note: this is the most exercise I've done for two years. :o

I'm aiming to lose inches and lose some weight, in order to get back to the body I had pre-baby. Or as close to that as I can! Once I've done the shred I'm going to try C25K as we'll be into autumn by then and I won't mind sweating and wheezing in public when it's dark in the evenings. ;) Haha.

There are some great before & after images online, so inspirational.
