Help I now need a new iphone 4 - ASAP

Oh my gosh !!!!! long drawn out process. I have had a iphone 4 for 9 days from Tesco. Its not worked at all. It cost me £200 for the phone upfront and £20 per month for 24 months giving me 250 mins and loads more than i need texts (5000) and 1gb data ( loads more than i really need too )
After all this time it always cuts out ( says call failed )when receiving or making calls usually about 30 secs into the call, i cant get an internet connection or anything.
Well they promised to look at it and send me a return bag - it has yet to arrive and i just got fed up and am returning the phone today to them.
Where will i get an iphone 4 in white for the same money or similar -
this was to be my christmas pressie pref on o2. AND how do i keep my number that i ported to tesco network.
oh and would be even better if i got cashback !!!!!
I really need to get on the ball with a new phone

Are they promising to look at the phone or cancel the contract. It's probably the former.

You could book a Genuis bar appointment at an Apple store and take it in to be looked at there and then, may be faster if you have one nearby.

In order for them to look at it i have to send it back to them -when they send me a jiffy bag and be without the phone for around a week, they couldnt even send out the first bag and i have been on the phone constantly to them so i am getting a refund and returning the phone.
I have looked my self but i am recovering from a brain injury and finding it hard at the minute so thought maybe i'd get some help on here.
looking a new phone about 200min of calls and min of 300 texts and 500mg of data

Again I'd say check carefully, they may only be sending it for repair. Faulty phones generally are not ground for the cancellation of a contract.

You may have been better sending it to Apple, although Tesco is the retailer Apple are very proactive in service, if you did it in store they would probably swap it there and then, otherwise the bag your getting may really just be something going back to Apple for replacment.

No they are now cancelling it. They told me today they will refund back on my card when they receive the phone back so i can no purhase from another source. any ideas ?

My wife's phone does this and it is Tescos network (O2) not having enough capacity in our area.

OTOH, it could be the widely known antenna issue of the Iphone 4. Try holding the phone differently because if you hold it in a particular position it shorts out the antennas and drops the signal.

I had the 4 for a year before I upgraded to the 4s, And even on orange I had dropped calls on the 4, You need to pick very carefully when looking at networks, My boyfriend has his 4 on Vodafone and his is much better than mine for signal.

If you go to phones4u they are offering a £200 highstreet voucher with any phone contract taken out with them, Tell them exactly what you want and see where you get, If you don't like the deal, Walk, They are usually on commission so will bend over backwards for the sale.
