Morning all,
BM & WM on. It's our Anniversary today, I bought DH a card but I've searched everywhere but can't find it, think I may have left it in the shop Duh. Received card and flowers from DH, he hid them in the garage, I wondered why he insisted on getting stuff out of the freezer for me y/day.
Off to the hosp today for follow up for the Ulcer on my Duodenum, I'm going to refuse another Endoscopy if there is no sedation, last one was so painfull.
No cooking for me today as DH is taking us out for dinner tonight after having drinks with friends at our local.
Only managed a speed read y/day so off to catch up.
Wishing you all a safe and happy day.0 -

Hi Chums anyone have any ideas how to get rid of cereal moths in the kitchen My youngest DD is being driven mad and apart from dismantaling her fitted kitchen she is just killing them as she sees them.We have scoured the cupboards and thrown out anything not packaged that she thought may be suspect.I will go to the local hardware shop today but wondered if anyone else has had this problem The tiny catterpillars she has been feeding to her fish (no wasteage there)but she just wants rid.We have bought lots of storage jars ect and most of the food had been stored. As its a food area its not like you can bung moth balls at the cupboards really.
School run this morning first off though, hope everyone has a good day
Cheers JackieO xx
PS Happy Anniversary Beth0 -
Morning all
FS glad to hear the good news
BB pink cushion, now there's a thought.
Beth, hope the hospital is easier this time.
Farmers wife good luck with the paperwork.
Julie, take care of yourself
Thanks for all the suggestions re the wool, I'll have a bash at a few of the ideas as soon as I've finished all the mittens I'm knitting, the same person who gave me the wool came in yesterday with a huge piece of dress fabric, in lovely colours, I shall make myself a top from it.
Hubby's been dropped at the station with his packup, breakfast eaten, fish fed etc, I'm taking HM soup for my lunch.
Tea tonight is sausage & mash so tomorrows packup for hubby will be sausage sandwich.
I love my new DW, I set it going after tea & it's finished & ready to unload in 30 mins, my old machine took a couple of hours so often didn't get unloaded til the following morning.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Moths are quite often found in the home, usually inadvertently introduced in contaminated foodstuffs but they can also be found in birds’ nests. Although not a risk to health they can cause damage, in the larval or caterpillar stage, to foodstuffs, clothing, carpets, wools, fur and leather etc. as they will eat any natural fibres.
Control can be achieved by removing and disposing of old birds’ nests, disposing of any contaminated foodstuffs and checking all packages including unopened ones. Check all carpets & rugs for signs of infestation and vacuum the edges of the carpets. Check walls, ceilings and behind pictures, hangings etc. for signs of larvae and/or the webbing produced by the larvae. Clothing, blankets and linens etc. should also be checked and, if infested, normal washing procedures should eradicate the problem.
The next step is to apply an insecticide suitable for flying insects. Kitchen cupboards can be sprayed with a crawling insect spray but surfaces must be dry to the touch before any food is returned and this should be in containers so there is no direct contact between food and cupboard surfaces. Other means of treatment include traps, which can be hung up, solid block insecticides in plastic vented containers and ultra violet electric killers. ALWAYS READ AND FOLLOW THE MANUFACTURERS’ INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE ON THE CONTAINER.
All treatments for moths should follow the relevant advice given above and be applied for some time with a minimum of 4 weeks being advisable or as directed in the product instructions. If, after this period, there are no signs of the improvement to the infestation, a professional pest controller should be employed to eradicate the problem. There are number of local operators in the area who can be found in service directories or local advertising papers and it is advisable to seek quotations from two to three different companies. You know your getting old when yougo to the pub sit outsideand admire the hanging basket
