I'm very confused why you have previously bought shoes that don't fit you?! I thought only my sister did this, but then again I only own 1 pair of heels =/
Very organised though, nice one

Good evening revellers,
Hello Wobblydeb & thanks for popping by :hello:
Horace - trust me when say that I put no one to shame in housekeeping matters ... currently harbouring an old pc tower, dismantled table, tv unit & table-style sewing machine in my living room
. Very carefully hidden / camouflaged though ... to the extent that I no longer see them as intruders.
kerri_dfw - I bought the shoes, unworn, on ebay when I was going through a Mad Men style phase. Because they've really pointy toes I found them a bit tight, but kept them because they were so pretty
.
I have in the past *hangs head & looks contrite* also bought shoes that are too big/small even after I've tried them on, honestly believing that my feet will grow or the shoes stretch, as necessary :rotfl:. My last 3 ebay shoe buys however, were hugely succesful though; bronze ankle straps, red patent flats & also the black embroidered wedges with ankle straps :heartpuls.
Right, on to Important Matters : Grumpy is making a bit of comeback in the scrabble tournament  I have 335 points vs. his 270 ... no spare letters left though. I have 3 'i's an 'e' & a 'w' & can use them all up depending on where Grumpy lays his next word.
I bought a pack of mini twixes at work for 1 berry & went to the co op on my way home yesterday & spent about 3 berries on bread & rolls, & stuffed one loaf in the freezer so now have good supplies in & should be able to last a good few days
.
I also paid DD 5 berries to scrub a saucepan clean after I'd boiled it dry whilst being distracted during the never-ending cooking session on Sunday
. It turns out that the funny smell was not the bamboo steamer overlapping the pan & on the brink of catching fire.
Don't judge me, I was sick of the kitchen by then & an overnight soaking still didn't shift the burnt bits, DD was keen as she is saving up for her ipod, & I paid her out my pocket money. AND, it was cheaper than buying a new saucepan
. I won't have her clean the car though. She's rubbish at it.
Today has been bountiful in comparison; 3 of my free pre-owned cd's arrived at work :T. Loaded on to the mac & playing now .
I got home & the other cd was here & my co-op vouchers had arrived; £19.50 to spend in the store . Very frugal
I end the month with 7 berries credit in my current account & nothing outstanding
. I paid the CC off again, but am really going to try to use cash weekly. I think this is the only way I'll manage to stick to a budget. Although it makes sense to use the CC to earn the cashback & then clear it each month, it's just too easy to overspend.
This ensures that I have a supply of cash for when the window cleaner turns up & hopefully I can start to save a bit each week. Just like in the dark ages when women earned their pin money by scrimping & saving on their housekeeping allowance.
I also reckon it will help to break that cycle of 'spend & repay' that I've been locked in for years.
I'm not entirely sure about what to include in the weekly budget & I'm going to start off fairly generously, to give myself a chance to ease into the new routine, & have decided that £60 a week should give me plenty of space to either make big savings some weeks, or to cover extra expenses another week.
It's payday tomorrow :j but I won't withdraw the cash til Friday, it might help to soothe my grouchiness at having to work that day. I'm enjoying work at the moment, since going out with the guys, I feel more bonded to them & I almost wish Gropey would make me an offer to increase my hours. He won't though & to be fair I'm not really required unless Goblin reduces her hours.
So, looks like I'm destined for another year of home-job
.
Never mind though; I now have 334 berries in the Holiday Fund
& I'll be topping up all the other funds on Thursday.
My bit of Fabulous for the day was listening to Design Diva practising guitarism during lunch hour, it was great .
Bathed & relaxed so going to read for a bit before Zzzzz ing down for the night.
Bye for now

G'morning all,
so here I am looking very glam in my midweek pj's & dressing gown combo, and at an hour when I'd normally be putting the kettle on at work :rotfl:.
I had to get up as normal for home-job collection at 7.30 so made myself a coffee & then slunk back to bed with laptop, the Big Pink Book & my monthly budget sheet.
Actually, I only have 2 pages left in the B.P.B one for this week & then next week.
I'm not sure whether to start the next Money Book tomorrow, or wait until January ? Need to make a decision quickly & although tempted to start in January as December is not a usual month spending wise ... December will in fact be my very first month when finally up to date with all finances & starting to live within a proper weekly budget.
Aaaaaahh I'm rubbish at simple little decisions like this :rotfl:.
Anyway, I'm so excited about everything that I've already made the money transfer to my online savings funds as follows :
Gas & Electricity fund = £323
Car Tax fund = £70
Car Insurance fund = £50
Car Maintenance fund = £110
The Rent, Council Tax, Water & Virgin payments go out of my account tomorrow & I'm expecting a much lower Vodafone bill this month, but that's not for a couple of weeks.
Plans for today include getting outside to get some sun & rake up leaves, completing home-job work & maybe a task or two.
No plans to spend money

I'm glad you could switch your Friday to a Wednesday, Lula - I know its not nice, doesn't give you the same long weekend - and very glad to hear you're still in your pj's - you have to treat it as a holiday, after all

The money thing is a tough one, isn't it - there's so much extra going out in December, but it seems crazy to just ignore the month - so you've hit on a nice compromise.
As you do :j2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Ooooh I am so enjoying having today off ... am almost wondering if it would be better to have a day off mid week rather than Fridays

That would be great as far as home-job is concerned too & for doing a mid-week wash load, shop or quick cleaning session ... hmmmm maybe I need to think a bit deeper about the possiblities here.
Only having to work both jobs for 2 days, rather than the current three would be great
.
No rushing in & making rash decisions though.
I've used my time wisely so far; zipped down to co op while the sun was shining & procured some caster sugar & an orange, No Spends though, I used the shiny new vouchers & got a £2 coin in my change :j so that's both frugal & fabulous in one swoop
Came home & with DD complaining yet again that bananas make her mouth all itchy, decided to use the remaining bananas to make a banana & walnut loaf ...currently in the oven, & soon to be in my tummy .
It's lucky she's loving citrus fruits at the moment, I'm struggling to give her fresh fruit without having to dose her up with anti allergy stuff & I really hate pouring meds in her on a daily basis. Will just avoid other fruits for a while.
I'm about to start home-job now so will pop back later to tell you how luscious the banana loaf is & how many pounds I've regained :rotfl:
Bye for now
