Look at the ingredients, and if they seem pretty much like non-chinese pancakes then serve with sugar and lemon / grated cheese / drinking chocolate powder / mashed banana / maple syrup / cinnamon ... or anything else you normally serve non-chinese pancakes with!

Any thoughts on what to do with a frozen pack of chinese pancakes ( the sort you would serve with crispy duck, if you had any). ta.
Use them like small tortilla wraps? lasagne? cut into strips and use as noodles, you could yurn them into crispy noodles as well, wrap round cooked meat and make dimsum dumplings

    Hi

Well I posted this on the "In my home" board - with no response at all - so obviously got the wrong Board.

Any O.S.'ers out there who can tell me what to do please to remove a mark off the top of my wooden sideboard (think the fact that I had given a workman working in there a hot drink might JUST have summat to do with this mysteriously appearing - as I know neither I or any visitor of mine caused it:mad: ).

I know a coffeemug ring appeared there before:mad: and I managed to virtually eradicate it with summat - cant remember what for the life of me - 'cept it was natural, not a chemical product.

 Why wont other people be more careful in my home - darn it!!!

Rant over - and hoping for advice.

    Anyone got any ideas please?

    Hi ceridwen,

There was a product called Ring Away which is for removing water and burn marks from wood, is that what you're thinking of? I don't know if it's still available as it's ages since I bought mine.

The replies on this thread may help: Cup Ring on Wooden Table

I've read that making a poultice from cigarette ash and water    and rubbing that in was supposed to do the trick. Never having been a smoker, I can't verify it. I was advised once to go and ask a pub if I could cadge their ashtrays, but that's no longer possible

    brilliant ! ta
  • Hi ceridwen
What finish is there on your sideboard? Is it varnish or french polish or what? Just looked in my restoring furniture book and for most marks he suggests an abrasive that will gently rub off the mark. 'rubbing compound' from car places such as Halfords is one or toothpaste or fag ash as someone already mentioned; or something like Cif. You may then have to put back the shine if you have had to rub hard enough that it was removed - IYSWIM ;)

Don't be put off giving drinks to tradesmen :o (well, the nice one's anyway!) - OH sometimes goes all day without the offer of a brew - but then he'd be horrified if he made a ring on your furniture; he takes slippers with him if he's walking on folks carpets  bless 'im :heartsmil

My desk is covered in rings :o I could experiemnent on one if you like?
