Hi peeps
I'm going to cook some rice, I have some peppers that need using up, I was thinking of putting them in the rice, do I have to cook the peppers on there own first, or can I chop them up, and put them in with the rice as it cooks?Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

OOOh I someitmes like to make a version of fried rice. While the rice cooks I gently fry some onion, pepper and perhaps some bason chopped up. Drain rice well, stri into veggies and add an egg. cook through until hot and egg has 'set' then top with soysauce and yummyr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0

I do that because different things need different and not always predictable cooking times. For example, rice is usually 15-20 minutes in my head, but I'd only do carrots for 10. If I put my carrots in half way through, the rice will cool down as they go in, and then it will take longer to cook, and my carrots will be done to death.
Does that make sense? (Have you noticed I'm trying to teach you cookery from first principles here, to help you work things out for yourself? Not that anyone minds you asking, but if you're in a hurry it will save you waiting for an answer!)Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Hi, could anyone give me advice on how long homemade quiche keeps in the fridge? I made one on Monday & my DD wanted to eat it yesterday (Thursday), but I wasn't sure so binned it (only one portion so not too wasteful!)0
