Hi,
I made some burgers a while back and froze them raw.
I want them for dinner tonight.
Do I need to defrost first or can I cook from frozen like you can shop bought ones?
Thanks.Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

Bought a chicken caesar salad recuded from Boots, do you think it would be safe to freeze for Monday? Just not sure about the chicken?Student MoneySaving Club member 017!0

I don't know what's in a caesar salad, but I wouldn't freeze lettuce ...
Also you don't know whether the chicken was previously frozen or not, do you?
I'm not saying I definitely wouldn't, might depend what was in it and how long it was out of the fridge while I brought it home, but I'm not sure I would either. I definitely wouldn't eat it if I were pregnant, breastfeeding, elderly or of a sensitive disposition food-wise.
PS I've just seen you're a member of the student moneysaving club, so if you're a young fit student, you'll probably live as long as none of the above apply. The other question I'd ask myself is 'how much did I pay for it?' I currently have some steak pies in the freezer which cost me 9p from Morrisons, so if someone said they weren't safe to eat I'd happily throw them away. If it was 99p then that might be a different matter ... :rotfl: Is eating it on Sunday not an option? ie not freezing it?Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Slow cooker & milk....possible disaster ahead?
Morning everyone. I've just put some beef stroganoff in my slow cooker for tea tonight. It was a packet stroganoff mix that required mixing with milk. I've just remembered that milk doesn't always cook well in a slow cooker.....will it be ok or shall I rescue it before it's too late?:T*Thanks to all who posts comps * :j0 -
Lettuce definately won't freeze well. I've tried.
Like anything else with a high water content - raw tomatoes, celery and, as previously mentioned, mushrooms.
Of course, the water turns to ice and breaks down the fibre of the original ingredient. When defrosted, it turns to mushBought a chicken caesar salad recuded from Boots, do you think it would be safe to freeze for Monday? Just not sure about the chicken?
I would never, ever freeze any "ready meal". Chances are that some of the ingredients have previously been frozen. Otherwise, it's so processed that the texture is bound to suffer.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -

I'm sure my slow cooker book has a recipe for rice pudding.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I've never heard that before either and use milk in quite a few recipes. And yes, most SC's have a rice pudding recipe in their bookHi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there.
