you don't need to have registered anything, just download the tool and run it !!!

2. Download and run MCPR.exe
Download the removal tool from http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe.
Click Save, and save the file to a folder on your computer.
Navigate to the folder where the file was saved.
Ensure that all McAfee windows are closed.
Double-click MCPR.exe to run the removal tool.


closed - if they're going to clean the carp out of the fan, no harm in replacing the heatsink compound while the fan's off, especially as most of the original has dried out by now

Hey there

Just checking in to say thanks for the advice and to say that I have stalled with the sorting out!! I am using my computer a lot for working at home at the moment, and OH and I both don't want to risk damaging it.

We are going to make an attempt at the cleaning out over Christmas, hopefully I will have good news for you then in terms of speed and churning. I will no doubt then pick your brains further for more info.
