Hey everyone, im looking to send a request to Sainsbury bank for fees built up on a credit card i used to have. However ive scoured the forum and cannot see any reference to anyone contacting them, or even anyone using this card!
Does anyone have any further information to help me out? Id love the address to write my request for charges to as well?
Many Thanks

im shocked, ive scoured the forums over and over and found no reference to anyone claiming back on a Sainsbury bank credit card
i think they are underwritten by Royal Bank Of Scotland, would it be a good thing to send them the correspondents?0 -
Could someone please tell me the address for Sainsburys Bank to get copy statements under the Data Protection Act
Thanks0 -
Hi there, have been going through the steps to recover charges from Sainsburys credit card, the last letter I sent was to threaten to take them to court. Just received their response stating they will investigate my concerns and will response within 4 weeks in-line with the Financial Service authority regulations. Is this correct? do I wait nearly 4 weeks or do I proceed to take them to court regardless? thanks for any advice you can offer.0

I have had a long battle with Sainsburys Credit Card (part owned by HBOS). I instituted court claim for penalty charges combined with removal of default which they had failed to substantiate or prove in any way (numerous requests in writing to do so). They said that they would enter a defence and then made me an offer on most of charges but no mention of default removal. I wrote and gave them my terms i.e. I would accept offer on charges but default had to be removed and money sent by cheque They did not respond and in fact did not file defence. Judgement was entered in default. No monies received despite many letters - bailiff's warrant issued. CRA's also refused to remove default. I went back to court to ask the judgement to be made more complete in its terms so that it stated explicitly that the default should be removed as this was part of original claim. I had hearing listed for June. Meanwhile bailiff's warrant has not been paid and Sainsburys have asked court to set judgement aside - again no evidence on default submitted merely copy of my letter outlining terms of settlement. They have told the CRAs that the default should be there so they won't do anything. My question is what to do now? The default removal has always been condition of any offer made to Sainsburys to settle the debt and its existence has caused me severe financial disadvantage. The court hearings are set for June 5th. Whilst I can send information in to court in advance proving my attempts to communicate on the default and charges is there any point me writing to sainsburys beforehand and reiterating my offer to settle on the debt minus the charges and the removal of the default? Should I consult a solicitor on this? Can someone give me some advice please or point me in the direction of some good advice? I'm hoping someone can help0

I would be tackling these two things as seperate problems.
Firstly i would ensure that the funds were paid to you by cheque as you have requested, then i would go about finding out more about this default.
Usually, the only time a company will remove any details from your credit file or a default notice, is if it was their error. If this was the case, then i would maybe look at consulting someone like a solicitor. However, if they are saying the default should be there, they obviously dont view this as their error so it sounds unlikely they would remove it, unless you can prove that it was an error on their part.Bank charge Victories 07:MBNA:£205.77.Natwest Credit Card:£250.A&L Bank:£549.68.First Direct:£1183.50.Natwest:£112.33+£200 compo.Marbles CC:£298.Providian CC:£181.Capitol One CC:£388.46.PPI requests:A&L credit card/First Direct loan: At Court stage.Marbles CC:£213.02 refunded.GE Money:£562.34 refunded.First Direct credit card:£747.83 refunded.0 -
I have made many attempts to get this information. I have written to Sainsburys on several occasions requesting proof of the issue of the default and a copy of the default notice. This has never been provided and did not come with my S.A.R. when all my missing statements and even copies of memos were included. I have written to all the CRAS and asked them to provide proof. The only statement that they can make is that Sainsburys say it should be there so it is. Their statement to the court merely says that I breached credit agreement - no proof whatsoever has ever been provided. I don't have too much faith in solicitors0

My understandin is the Information Request that we are asking for when we send companies our £10, entitles us to see all and everything that company holds on us. In fact several companies have sent me printouts of conversations i have had with their advisors. Dont know if you can specifically request this sort of detail to see if this sheds light on the reason fr the default. If that fails, and it sounds like it might, i wonder if someone like the Financial Ombudsman might be interested?Bank charge Victories 07:MBNA:£205.77.Natwest Credit Card:£250.A&L Bank:£549.68.First Direct:£1183.50.Natwest:£112.33+£200 compo.Marbles CC:£298.Providian CC:£181.Capitol One CC:£388.46.PPI requests:A&L credit card/First Direct loan: At Court stage.Marbles CC:£213.02 refunded.GE Money:£562.34 refunded.First Direct credit card:£747.83 refunded.0 -
After following the letter procedures and filing a claim with the courts last week I have just got a response from Sainsbury's card/HSBC offering me £75.00 which they claim represents half of the charges applied to my account. My claim to the courts is £648.80 I have included late payment charges and interest charges they have debited over the 6 year period plus interest on the total amount. Am I right in asking for the interest charged over the 6 years or should I have just claimed for late payment charges? Or do you all think they are fobing me off! any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,0 -
Wrong in claiming the interest charges, they certainly aren't going to pay the interest on your credit card and the 8% interest is only payable should a claim go to court as this is awarded by the courts.0

Do I have to re-issue the court summons with amended amount of just late payment charges to the courts and pay another £80.00 court fee?0
