I know the OP is married with two children, I was making the point of how much money is thrown at single parents who do not work. Compared to couples with children who are trying to work.
You do know the majority of single parents work don't you? And that money is thrown at couples with children who don't work too.
Or are single parents just an easy target for you?Moving onto a better place...Ciao :wave:0 -

If he lost his job (as opposed to leaving through choice) they could make a joint claim for JSA. As they have a mortgage they could claim help with mortgage interest after thirteen weeks.0 -

How is telling someone they should have thought of it before having kids...when the kids are here and not going anywhere.. constructive??Slightly mad mummy to four kidlets aged 4 months,6,7 and 8

for goodness sake @ bobajob, a single parent family of 2 on benefits has way more than £90 per month to live off. Show some compassion man/woman.0

Granted, that was not constructive, but the OP did state that they were ranting. I replied that I did not feel their rant was justified. Following on from that, I have made several suggestions as to how they can resolve their situation ... but they do seem resistant to change.for goodness sake @ bobajob, a single parent family of 2 on benefits has way more than £90 per month to live off. Of course they do, but the OP has that amount after their bills. Single parents have bills too!0 -

That's not what the OP said. They said AFTER their outgoings they have £90 for food and clothing. They've not mentioned what their outgoings are.Moving onto a better place...Ciao :wave:0 -
single parents that do not work also get free meals, free healthcare and usually have full rent rebate and council tax rebate.................this is not aimed at single parents who also work and struggle, thing is single parents also or should get csa payments from absent parents, a top up as not added in with benefits already recieving, so therefore are better off.0
