  • Looking forward to today being over and I can have a weekend to relax and get over this cold, well if by relax I mean have a mad panic moving boxes in the flat tonight (en-suite may become a cupboard again) so that we can have furniture delivered and built tomorrow then I'll have to build said furniture and put it all in the right places before going to a Christening on Sunday which will cost me £2.80 in toll fares for the Tyne Tunnel.

Will be good to see my brother for the first time since Tuesday, won't see parents though as they're away this weekend but my Mam has said she's coming to visit me on Monday and my Dad is going to come through Tuesday, well he said then or Wednesday but I just remembered I'm at the Dentist on Wed. That's going to be fun driving to Whitley Bay not :( ah well.

Off to DP's tonight for dinner/xbox night with the girls, but here's a quick update of my spends for today..

    Lunch £2.99
holiday shorts for me £3 (bargain! Very impressed to find some that a) are cheap b) fit c) don't make me look like I have wobbly tree trunks for thighs and d) I'm sooo happy that after a year of streetdancing my legs/bum are getting nicely toned and are jellyfied/orange peeled! HURRAH! Cue one very happy IA... :D

I did have a bit of a treat, I bought a holiday dress for £29.99 on the credit card. It'll be paid off in the next month, but I fell in love with it and it's perfect for the holiday so.... naughty I know though! :D

Morning all! Killing time with the big'un dances and the little'un colours. She's decided that she doesn't want to dance as well as not doing her exam, so we shall see if she wants to stop doing it altogether.
For today though we've spent £4 on dance instead of £8 so have saved some money. Also paid for Ash's exam so that's done. Only mine to pay for now.
They've asked for lunch out before we go shopping, and considering the weather is a bit grim (serious fog and it's damp) a picnic is out of the question so looks like a maccys job! Least we've got some spare cash to help out with it and £20 of our budgets leftover anyway :)
In other less exciting news have set up a standing order for the halifax 0% card for this month's min of £5, so will gradually pay more and more off this month with no effort. Huzzah! Not much but it all helps. Unless the bare min payment IS £5.. Either way.. Lol

Came home from dance to a letter from the Housing association wishing to discuss my 'unpaid rent'. Eeer. What unpaid rent. My payment isn't even DUE until the 25th as I've been paying my standing order for as long as I can remember and have never missed a payment. The payment is also £353 instead of my normal payment of £329 which THEY told me to pay last year when it increased so that I'd clear it by the end of the financial year.
I'm not best pleased actually, I think it's really patronising and rude to basically accuse someone of not paying their rent before it's even due to go out! Grrrr.

So yea... another call to be made Monday.

Thinking about it, with Experian looking to start adding rent payments to their credit reports... stupid things like this better not go as a bad mark on my credit report because the housing association don't have the sense to look at their computer...

We went out shopping this afternoon which was nice. Typically the sun came out and it was really warm as we got there! Could've taken a picnic after all!
The girls has some vouchers to spend from christmas/their birthdays so most of the money was that. We did have lunch though which was £14. Also went into primark and managed to get stuff for the girls for our holiday. Sunglasses x 2, swimming costumes x 2, and two tops each all for £16 which was pretty good! I also put some money (£8) towards a game for Ash as she'd traded in one of her games but didn't quite have enough for the one she wanted. Other than that and parking of £1.60 everything else was with vouchers. :)
Knackered now though! Need to update my brand spanking new 'holiday items' list too :D yes... Another list...

Evening! Had a manic few days so not much chance to update. Has been a good few days though so will try and do a brief update before I head to bed!

Yesterday me and DP enjoyed a childfree day so we went on a little road trip taking photos. Had a fab afternoon out but I put £15 petrol in to cover it. Was worth it though :)

Have sorted out the rent. They'd told me the wrong amount to pay monthly (only by a couple quid typically) which meant I was £23 short to clear it by the end of the year. Have paid it either way and will be updating my standing order to sort out this year's payments as it's gone up by £20 a month. Ouch.

They did come out and check the heating today. It's all working as expected but what he did say is the type of boiler I have is about 50 years out of date and only about 60% efficient max. He recommended a combi boiler and electric shower, but there's no way the housing association would pay for that so I'm stuck with a boiler twice as old as I am (although possibly more efficient :rotfl:).

Had to call up Currys as still hadn't received m £25 refund for the cooker with the dent in it. Called them and they're sorting it out and crediting the credit card within 3-5 days apparently. Least that's another £25 off the card with no effort though!

Have got £8.50 work expenses to claim, so that will be going off the credit card also.

Will update my budgets properly tomorrow, I'm knackered and need my sleep! Night all!

Thank you! Had heard about that but not given it a proper look. :)

Had dance tonight plus the extra team session so spent £9. There's no dance for me or the girls next week either due to easter. The £20 budget for it I'll be using on a work meal though so won't save anything really. One of our colleagues is leaving so want to go, but will have to take the kids this time.

Also bought milk today as had run out and that was £1.

Have had an email to say my currys refund has gone back onto my card, but annoyingly it's only £16.99 now instead of £25 like the delivery driver promised. BUT it's still a refund so I'm not going to complain too much!

This week's social budget of £10 is going to be spent on the girls, by getting them puss in boots on dvd seeing as we missed it in the cinema. We're all looking forward to getting it! Was originally going to rent but considering it's £3-4 to rent and £9.99 to buy it makes more sense to buy this as I know they'll watch it loads :)

Anyway, bedtime for me. I'm bushed!

    Evening all!
Not much to report today other than I spent £1.50 on a baguette from greggs because it was so hot I didn't fancy my soup. Has been a gorgeous day though so can't complain!
    Hope everyone is well!

    Good evening! :D
Today has been a busy but good day.
Have done my food shopping and eventually managed to find petrol after having to drive around a bit. Stupid panic buyers have caused some of our local stations to shut because they've run out of fuel.

    Anyway.. here's my spends.

    Petrol 25.00
food shop 47.28 (£38.61 in Aldi, the rest in ASDA)
holiday clothes 23 (Thought seeing as I hadn't spent the whole of my budget for food I'd pick some up as they had a sale on in ASDA, just went a little over! Oops. Still, managed to get two tops and shorts for me, a dress each for the girls, some arm bands and a swimming ring. Not quite primark/peacocks sale prices but still not bad. :) )
puss in boots 12.97(as promised for the girls using my social budget!)
    Race for life £24.99 :)

Had my refund on the CC for the oven dent and after my budgets I had £28.89 left so have paid this off the card plus the £14.25 minimum payment seeing as with Barclaycard if you make an extra payments they take it off your minimum instead of allowing it to go out as expected. *rolls eyes*

Have updated my sig. It's now back under £600 which is better, but still want to try and pay as much off as possible this month before hammering the 0% catalogue next month before the 0% runs out in June.

I also still need to pay for my exams and my MOT.
Will pay for my exams next week, and book my MOT for the week after seeing as I can't do it until after the 12th April anyway (It's actually due 12th May but I'll be in Majorca then! :D).

I'm in a determined frame of mind for April. I have a feeling it's going to be a good month, shortly followed by holidaaaaaay yaaaaay!
