Just to note - this applies to Cahoot product only. And then only to the Flexible loan product.

I take it if the loan was for the same amount of money each month for the whole duration of the loan then I would not be in a position to claim / reclaim?

That sounds like you had a fixed loan, rather than one of these flexible ones. So no, no complaint on the basis of the topic in this thread.

  • Hi,

Thank you for your advice happy_bunny. In regards to sending a subject access request, what do you mean by this though? Is this basically requesting them to send me all my details of my loan that I had with them?

    Hi,

Yes, it costs you £10 but they must then send everything they have on their files.
  • Write to them, telling them that you wish to make a subject access request. Include any account numbers, addresses you have, DOB.

Tell them you are including a cheque for £10 as you presume they will charge the maximum allowed for the info and to return it if not.

  • So after reading this I decide to go ahead and email cahoot, even though it seems they aren't putting out at the minute. So I've had a reply today saying the have received my complaint and would like to work towards a resolution. No doubt this is a generic reply for all complaints so i will sit tight and see what reply I get.

Has anyone had any luck recently? I understand one of the forum members has started legal proceedings..
  • So I have had a reply from complaints here it is..

    Dear Mr Martin,

Further to our previous email, please could you kindly give me your full postal address so we can send our resolution letter to you.

Maybe a picture of all the money they have had off me since 2002

They want to send you the standard rejection letter I expect.

You going to refer to FOS if so?

Sadly not. They seem to be good at rejecting anything relating to this by the looks of it.
