I've said before that the key is the CCA.
Take a look at this article on how Student Loans are being refunded. Seems to me that the situation with Cahoot and Santander is the same. Several people have reported CCA breaches.

We need an expert who understands the Cahoot rate rises, the various terms and conditions that appear to break the CCA, and who is able to link in with the student loans issue.
Anyone out there? Denza?0 -
And this is also interesting as they have been quoting the same dross as Santander "'in the interests of running our business 'prudently and efficiently'"

I've just come across this thread.
I had a cahoot flexible loan years ago (probably around 2001-2003) but don't have paperwork for it anymore. I am sure it was a flexible one but I don't recall taking any extra borrowing through its life and I think I paid it off early. Any chance of mew getting anything back do you think?0 -

Not unless something comes of the legal action been looked into by Denza and from what you describe, it wouldn't be much if anything.
Its people that have had the loans a number of years that suffered the rate jackings.

I have just come across this thread
I have sent in a compliant letter as well as numerous phone calls and emails to the ceo and all I am getting is rejection letters.
I took out the flexi loan with cahoot at the 8%APR and in nearly 12 years i have paid off 900 pounds of the 10k i took out
I have again emailed the ceo email address this morning as I never actually get a reply.
The weird thing is when i talk to customer services they dont understand why I am still paying for this loan
grrrrrrrrr
any advice would be welcome
thanks0 -

Have you not been getting regular statements?:beer:0 -
Yes but i work abroad 90% of my life and never really took any notice (I know, bad isnt it) I have however been trying to get this resolved for nearly a year now...
Edit: When I say never took any notice i mean i usually return home to a pile of post, fly through it for anything urgent bla bla bla0 -
Ok.
What's the thing you want to know? Why you haven't paid much off?
What have you complained about?
What did they reject?
Any generic interest rate hike complaints I would expect to be rejected. They should not just reject every complaint.:beer:0 -
My main questions that I have sent are:
1. Why is the APR on this loan higher than when I first took the loan out
2. Why does your statement show an incorrect APR rate
3. Why does your statement show it as a repayment loan and yet has a loan end date of 31-12-9999
4. How is it possible that I have paid off so much (over £30k) and the loan balance shows so little repayment (£1k)
I have the original paperwork showing it as an 8%APR flexi loan, I have been told by the Custome Service team that the APR stands at 22.3%, the statement actually shows that the APR is 20% and that it is a repayment loan0
