Our photographer charged us £1200 (should have been £1500 but he gave us a discount). We really loved his work and didn't mind spending a bit more on something which would last us forever.
For £1200 we got
* Pre wedding shoot
*A large photo from the Pre wedding shoot mounted so that on the wedding day guests could sign around the edge (we have this framed in out kitchen now and it a wonderful reminder of the day)
*2 photographers on the day. They started with bride preparations, and left about 1 hour after the first dance.
*About 20 prints of varying sizes of our choice
*A 70 page leather bound album
*All edited photos on an album
*A free online album
The photographers were professional and friendly, they didn't even want us to pay for their meals. We thought that we got an awful lots for the money and were more than happy with the photosNow a married lady and loving it! Now..to clear that pesky mortgage! :beer:0 -
We're paying £1200, and getting a pre-wedding photo shoot (done already), the start of the hen and stag do's (photographer was supposed to start at 10 on wedding day but neither of us wanted getting ready pics so he offered us that instead) and a whole day of pictures, he says he'll be there as long as it takes.
We'll be getting the CD, and a photobook with 80 of our pics in it. Might sound pricey but in my area thats quite cheap!0 -

We paid £450 for
Photographer all day
CD of around 600 pics to use as we wish
DVD with selection of pictures set to music of our choice
Album of 100 pictures of our choice.
Lots of people commented on how fantastic our photographer was, really putting people at their ease.0 -
Reading these it seems the photographer I want (I know her and feel comfortable with her) seems overpriced. It would be helpful if people could say who their photographer is or is that not allowed on mse?0

I think the prices being said are exceptionally good. I would say that for a top quality photographer, with a designed photobook and all day coverage - you're looking at more the £1,500 mark. Even at this price, I'd say that was a bargain.
We all like a good deal, but sometimes you have to question why photographers will charge such low prices. Possibly if they're trying to gain experience, etc.
It is also dependent on the day; i.e. if it's on the weekend or not.0 -
I think the area you are in will affect the price quite a bit so that could account for some of the differences. If you are comfortable with the photographer that is a big part so it may be worth paying more to have that satisfaction.0

We're paying £850 for TWO photographers all day, plus a disk of (non-copyrighted) edited images. Album is extra - we'll decide on that later.
Their work is stunning so imho we are getting a bargain. The photos are VERY important to us so we're happy to pay for a good quality product.
With photographers, unless you get very lucky with an inexperienced one or are paying 'mates' rates', you get what you pay for.
A friend paid £450 for a photographer as it was the cheapest deal she could find; she cried when they got their photos, they were so bad. And it's not like you can do it again...7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs
