Its not really a secret Chuck. Its been discussed before.
I just think its quite amusing that you can't break the Davinci Code like secret of what Geneer might do for a living.
BTW What was it you do again?
I'm a chartered quantity surveyor working as a university lecturer after a few years of early retirement from my QSing. I stopped working when it became my third string income (behind my two businesses). If you are a chartered engineer I have to say I don't know where on earth you are got the notion that somehow your chartered status trumps mine (was that the phrase you used I forget). Engineer covers a wide range, what type of engineer (not that I expect you to say of course, it's just not your style).
Sorry to disappoint Chuck. But no.
I thought maybe you had been it would have explained your lack of achievement. So what went wrong then?
More than a bit of pot and kettle going on Chuck.
The forums certainly a bit addictive, and probably not all that healthy.
But hey I certainly don’t take it seriously enough to be compelled to start randomly trotting out my qualifications and challenging people to online games of chess just because I’m losing an argument with people I don’t actually know on the internet.
Go figure eh.
I challenge lots of people to games of chess (that's what chess players tend to do, sorry you can't play is that because you prefer to just argue with people?). As I recall you lost the arguement, although I understand why you say that (as in your mind you are never wrong are you, yet more than a decade after graduating you are still renting, so something somewhere must have went wrong).
There is no pot and kettle here geneer you plainly bicker all the time, whereas a quick glance at a selection of my posts (paricularly in the pets, savings and retirement boards) will show that I do not routinely argue with everyone I come across. Although I think that you are probably unaware of what you do and how you come accross to others.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

He probably figured out the only interests that you have in life are arguing on the internet and your job, and took it from there.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

I don't know Chuck. I think an objective observer would consider the fact that you were compelled to start listing your qualifications before challenging me to a game of online chess -for no apparent reason whatsoever - as a fairly good indicator that you weren't doing so well in the argument in hand.
Just saying.

However when they look at the actual points of the arguement they would see that you were in fact wrong and that I was correct.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

Given your epic dummy spitting performance, that seems unlikely.
You know, I can even remember what we were discussing.
What I do recall is your comedic (and somewhat stereotypical) degeneration of proceedings.
Gotta say Chuck, then as now, you have the exact same problem.
Your willing to go to extraordinary, ultimatley self defeating, lengths rather than simply admitting your error.
Challenging someone to a game of chess in the midst of an online argument. It was Bonkers mate. Theres no two ways about it:rotfl:0 -

"Even remember"! It was only about 5 weeks ago! Do you normally struggle to remember such recent events, here's the thread:

You were wrong no two ways about it. But then I'm not surprised you can't see beyond headline prices to recognise value (a common trait in some engineers I have worked with, although not in my experience civil engineers who usually have a good handle on both cost and value, so I can probably safely eliminate 'civil engineer' from the possibities of your exact profession).
EDIT: OMG! wait a moment are you a sanitary engineer (dustbin man)Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

No. I wasn't.
A whole lot of bonkers postings uncerimoniously deleted as I recall Chuck. Your meltdown really was a sight to see.
Sadly, it proved to be too much even for this locked forum. Go figure.
And still unwilling to admit that challenging randoms to chess games in the middle of arguments isn't a somewhat mad-eyed.chucknorris wrote: »But then I'm not surprised you can't see beyond headline prices to recognise value (a common trait in some engineers I have worked with, although not in my experience civil engineers who usually have a good handle on both cost and value, so I can probably safely eliminate 'civil engineer' from the possibities of your exact profession).

Oh, I don't think you safely can Chuck.
You're a QS then. The most "rock and roll" member of the design team. :rotfl:0 -
