  • I am absolutely amazed what some of my sons aged 2 - 3 clothes have sold for! I had a rain suit / waterproof thing that had a stain on it that I nearly threw out to be honest. Thought I would photograph it and describe in full anyway expecting to get a couple of pounds and it went for 10.00. A pair of next jeans with a jumper with a slight stain on the front went for 6.00.

Its mad isnt it, what kids clothes can go for.
DS2 has just grown out of everything from newborn to 3 months (and that was second, sometimes third hand stuff!) and I sold every last bit of it on eBay last week, one guy bought 15 listings worth, he only lived a few miles away, came and picked it up, giving me twenty quid, so I saved loads on poastage too:D I was going to throw it out/ recycle it as it wasnt even good enough for charity shops (that sounds awful, I dont mean it like that!) glad I didnt now, the bloke was so chuffed with it!

Cant wait till baby grows out of his 3-6 month things now *needs devious hand rubbing smiley inserted here* :rotfl:

    Wow, congrats!

eBay is being a bit stupid atm... Have sold some more things on it, but it doesn't show up unless I click the "Awaiting Payment"/Ready to Post links. Hopefully it's a temp bug.

Anyway, managed to get an additional £20.50 on there this weekend (after P&P, eBay fee and the dreaded Paypal fee...)

Not sure if this has been mentioned before for paperbacks but you can trade some in on Amazon here http://www.amazon.co.uk/b?ie=UTF8&node=696229031

Looks like 25p average per book but it is also free to send them in so reasonable if you are like me and just tend to charity shop them :)

Had not realised you could trade in books too - sounds good.

Anyone know of any other sites to try and sell books. They dont seem to sell on ebay:(

  • I joined Quidco a couple of weeks ago, and today saw a LoveFilm offer. It says if you sign up to and complete a free 2 week trial, you get £18 cashback. I think theres some terms that if you don't cancel afterwards you are signed up and billed etc but I will be cancelling it once 2 weeks is up. I think that you need to have at least 1 film delivered and add a certain amount to your list (that you want to see). I've done all this today and the £18 is being tracked in my Quidco account :)

    :T Well done you! :T

I dont want to wee on your bonfire! but just a word of warning/ advice don't leave it until the last day to phone and cancel, I did that with one of the many free trials I've had with them and they didnt answer the phone, the second day I tried and they kept hanging up, when I did get through they were incredibly rude :( This was a year or two ago though, so hopefully things have improved, I really should ring and cancel my current subscription actually! :)

  • The only place I sell books is at Boot sales, either that or if they are appropriate I give them to my mum and dad for the school library they work in.

  • Just been accepted for shop and scan yay :j

Also saved some money on xmas presents today. If anyone missed it on the Grabbit board, Tesc* have a knitwear event on from today. Adult jumpers/cardigans that normally sell for up to £12 are now £5 and anything that normally sells between £14 and £35 is now £10. Got my Mother-In-Law and Sister sorted  Not adding this to total though as it just means the present fund stretches further.

lol. Ive got about a billion too! Keep thinking, oh I cant have much left to list, but then I walk round the house with a box and lo and behold its full again! I think its the more you declutter the more you realise how many things you have 'just for the sake of it' The amount of things that a few years ago I would never part with, but now I look at it, its still in the same place as it was back then, never used- in the box it goes! Its when you start looking at things in a different light you realise the eBay potential! :D

(and the amount of still brand new, with tags, size 12 jeans I've got piled up in the bottom of my wardrobe as my 'reason to diet' will be listed shortly, there must be about £200 in there! from around 5 years ago....and I'm still a size 18 :rotfl:)

A tip for those who use eBay and dont use a turbo lister for whatever reason (I just dont get on with it personally) you may find it less daunting to break up the chore of listing into three parts (I normally do them over a week, depending on when I'm going to start listing) Take all the photos in one 'session', in another, write all the descriptions (I just save mine into a word document on my desktop) and then finally sit down and do the listing, all youv'e got to do then is write a title, paste the description and upload your picture, which you can pretty much do on autopilot in front of the tv!
