Morons this morning with fog lights on

Yeah was similar on my way to work, short section of a few hundred metres on a bridge where there was heavy fog, loads of idiots including the guy behind me put their fog lights on and kept them on when we'd been clear of it for a couple of miles. Driving right up my !!!! as well to give me the full benefit of their fog lights in my rear view mirrors.
I've often thought the police should pull people over and make them take mandatory eye tests if they have fog lights on at really inappropriate times. Would soon teach people to use them properly.0 -
get off the cops round here use their fogs like their side lights! seen plenty of the mondy and the vovlo's with full bumper fogs on during the day without any visability issues. ive taken to flashing my main beam at them and pointing FOGS ON! im yet to have a coppa pull me because of my distracting gesture, if i ever do get pulled, ill be sure to photo the car with fogs on without visability issues. its not so much poeple round here use inapropriatly its just the police in my opinion.0

I find giving the police the "You don't have your seat belt on" sign language (Try it) seems to upset them for some reason...0 -
If people want to put them on does it really matter to you?
The only people that can do anything about it won't bother, and if the offenders wish to look stupid in the meantime, then let them look like they are stupid, at least you can see them.0 -
The whole point of fog lights is that they illuminate underneath the fog, they should not cause ANY visual impairment to other drivers at all......... (Unless your in a Kitcar sitting less than 5 inches from the ground).“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

It's a great pity fog lights (front and rear) aren't wired into a speed limiter which would limit speed when fog lights are used to 20mph max!
That would stop the mindless morons from using them - especially the BMW drivers and the go-faster stripe brigade who seem to believe front fog lights are for use at all times.
And if fog is so thick it needs fog lights being used, then 20mph is probably a safe speed."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

Yes it does matter, very often, foglights are brighter than brake lights, so much so, that on many cars you do not notice the brakes have been applied because the glare of the fogs drown out the brake lights.
And in normal visibility fog lights can be so bright that they shine into the driver behind's eyes, this is made ten times worse when it is dark.
I did not mention that later on in my journey on the same day, I was then blinded by another car when he also put his fogs on, they were extremely bright and extremely uncomfortable, that guy though turned them off after about 2 seconds....... I can only assume he had wanted to switch on his penis extension front fogs and flicked the switch too far and then realised his "mistake" and switched the rears off.
I would make it mandatory to have the fog light switch on all cars on the first click switch on the rear fog lights and on the second click the front fogs. This would mean that people who want their penis extension front fogs will have do it in the knowledge that they are blinding the people behind them and suffer the consequences of having irate drivers behind them flashing full beams at them.0 -

Is that also true of rear fog lights? Obviously not.
And whether or not is true for front fogs the fact of the matter is that front fogs on a car approaching you are too bright 9 times out 10, whether due to bad alignment or to simple fact that bright lights, even when not beamed directly into your eyes, do leach sufficient glare to be uncomfortable to someone who is almost but not quite infront of the beam. But at least these morons are gone in a few seconds, the idiot infront is there to stay for a long time.0 -
Even the Taxi drivers round here drive about with front fogs on. And they call themselves "professional drivers". Yeah right.
What is funny is that there is a Clio I often see around my town always with one fog light on. The moron doesn't even realise he has one out.0
