Just popped back in to say the Dickens essay is done and emailed to the teacher, thank goodness:eek: I had to shut him in the back room with the telly off.
Just back from Sainsbugs and treated ourselves to pork belly stuffed with sage and apple (reduced) so thats in the oven and will make a big salad with it.
Am working on my crochet animals tonight as stocking fillers for the grandchildren.
Quite a bit of paperwork and shredding to sort out this wkend plus some stuff to ebay.
Sunday will be a visit to mum and dad in Yorkshire for roast lamb dinner and apple crumble, Yummm.
Tonight will definitely be a bottle of wine, probably not ideal with crocheting, I'm not very good to start with:o oh well I'll risk it.Started Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Hello chums well we had a smashing day yesterday in London and did such a lot so didn't get home till around 7.30.p.m. then this morning I had to go to the hospital for my CT scan .Disaterous day, as just as the dye stuff was going into the back of my hand I had a very bad reaction to it and hurled all over their lovely CT machine Not nice as I also stopped breathing for a bit.Quite frightening in fact ,but the staff were smashing and got me out and filled me full of oxygen .Then got whizzed off to A&E for an x ray plus lots of needles and nasty stuff but eventually they let me go around 4.30. this afternoon
Eldest DD galloped to the hospital and I got severe telling off for 'doing too much ' Can't see what differance it makes as it was the stuff they injected that made me ill, not the galloping around London yesterday but hey my eldest can nag for England when it comes to me bless her.I feel a lot better if a bit tired tonight so a feet up and a do nought evening is called for I think, getting fed up with all the tests though and will be glad when its all sorted out .
The boys had a great time yesterday though as we came out of Charing Cross and walked down to Trafalgar Square so they could see Nelson and the fountains then down Whitehall to see (as much as we could ) of Downing Street, then the Cenotaph and Horseguards which the boys thought brilliant as they were parading so they saw them in all their finery complete with swords. Then down to Parliament Square to see the House of Parliament and Big Ben then over Westminster Bridge to the London Eye.They loved the trip up the Eye and the 4D experience beforehand .
After that we walked along to Waterloo Station and got a cab the the Imperial War Museum and the kids loved what they saw in there .In the foyer there is a chunk of a window frame from the Twin Towers which they found very interesting although sad, and we also went up to the third floor to see The Holocaust Exibition. The boys asked lots of questions which we answered as much as we could.Whe we came out there is a big piece of the Belin Wall in the grounds which I had to try to explain to them. Then we got the train back to Blackheath where I had parked and drove home. The boys were full of all what they had seen and I thought it was good for them to realise that life isn't all about computer games and when they saw the museum I think it made them realise how lucky they are to live today, and not 70 odd years ago.
One of the boys (Henry) is doing WW2 at school so he had lots to see and he said it made it seem more real, rather than just something in a book.
So half-term is over and its back to school next Monday but I have enjjoyed it even though it has been a bit tiring.Monday was Dover Castle followed by a trip along the coast to Hastings, and on Tuesday we went to Battle Abbey, I had a day off on Wednesday then the day in London yesterday .It will be nice to get back into a routine again though.
Now I am off to put my feet up and relax for the rest of the evening I do hope you all have a good week-end
Cheers chums

Oh JackieO that sounds awful. Hope you manage to have a relaxing evening and weekend.
Glad I didn't go back to work today as I had a repeat of Wednesday's tummy cramps and then a swift run to the bathroom. This is an odd bug! Still I shall go to work tonight and see how I go, at least I don't feel sick this time.
Not done much today but pleased that the washing has dried outside! Take care. XX0 -
JackieO it sounds to me like a do nothing weekend is in order, not just tonight, don't go scaring us like that. Good Evening x
Just a quick post to say a big thank you xx
Poor Poppy is home but very sorry for herself. The lump looks like a cyst but it has been sent off. Im not too worried as the vets were happy.
The counselling went well for DS1 and he has agreed to go again :T:T:T I do hope he can sort himself out and find his way xx
Tired tonight and will be catching up on everyone's news. Hope you all have a good evening.I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Jackie G - I do sympathise as I too had a bad reaction earlier this year and it was very frightening. Please take it very steady this weekend and rest up xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.

JackieO - make sure you get taken care off for a little while - sounds like you had a bit of a scare! I hope you recommended Stardrops for the CT machine
Make lasagne last night and cooked it at daft o'clock as DS-D was coming home from a school trip and she loves it. Change of plan - her mother rang and wanted to take them both for the weekend so her and her brother are away until monday or tuesday (half term here next week)
Just me and DD tonight and most of tomorrow as DH is working. Shopping has been delivered...minus the pumpkin () but I have a mystery shop tomorrow so I'll pick one up then.
Got a big pork leg joint reduced the other day and pulled it to bits yesterday - got sandwiches all round out of it last night to go with HM soup for dinner and have frozen three boxes of it with some let in the fridge for DH's supper - there's also loads of lasagne left so I'll try and freeze the leftovers but i'm srugling to find room!
Dropped a MASSIVE Clanger yesterday when renewing car insurance - thought i'd got a really good deal and it was only when I checked the bank and found the account near enough cleared out that I realised the monthly payment was slightly lower but there was a huge deposit. I explained what I'd done and they have cancelled it but it will be the back end of the week before its refunded, still don't know how I managed to miss it!
Had news today that a girl who DH would have seen several times a week through work over the summer was ound dead yesterday - she was 33 and really beautiful. She had (alledgedly as I dont know the facts) committed suicide and was found by her mother. DH is naturally shocked and saddened by it - never had an inkling that she was anything other than her public persona - confident, helpful and happy. Such a waste.
I've took up enough space. stay safe xxClimbing back on the OS wagon after a short vacation to Recklessness

JackieO how awful for you! Talk about scary! Take it easy over the weekend; and make sure they never give you that stuff again!
Molly glad Poppy is home; when my Penny-Dog had a cyst removed, they sent it off for analysis, but it was benign - it's just something they do to cover all bases.:o Very gentle (((hug))) for Poppy. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
