Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Friday 28th October. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Another member of the early riser club joining you!Hope you get chance for a nap later, or more sleep tonight x.
CBA to see what weather's like, just know it's not raining, not too cold just now. Got tons to do today before I go to work at lunchtime, so it's probably a good thing I'm up so early!
First meal in the SC was a great success - DH even said he'd eat seconds if he had space - almost unheard of! :rotfl: He and DS (19) were discussing what meals could be done in it.
Have a good morning all, hugs and kisses, hope to pop back later.

Morning All,
Been feeling really off the last week, no energy at all!
Yesterday my DS did his big homework project (he did so well, I was so proud!), and he looked all smart with his new glasses on
Today I have to put bread on, the washing and tidy the house a little. This afternoon when DH is home we will go to the library and then the park (if it's wet the boys will play Rugby and get muddy).
Did the big monthly food shop last night, buy does the half term make people come out in droves it was horrid (and I normally enjoy shopping) and it meant that tons of stuff were not on the shelf. Add insult to injury some of the good deals online were not in store even though I asked for a price check... so I handed those items to the manager and said 'well lucky they are on offer at Sainsbury's still...'
Dinner tonight is Spaghetti Bolognaise (I can't eat pasta while pregnant, so will most likely have a pork chop)
Hope everyone has a good weekend, I have little planned so I hope it'll be a lovely oneWe spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. Morning all.
a fleeting visit today. If there is anything OS going on here it won't be me doing it. From a minute after I sign off I'll be on publisher and stuck there for the rest of the day. I have only today to get the church magazine finished, (finished? I've only done 2 pages so far!), printed, collated and stapled ready for distribution. Oh! I forgot, In between, for a bit of relaxation, I have to make cheese scones and a few cakes for the coffee morning tomorrow.
Have a wonderful day if you can. I'll try to catch up tomorrow.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Morning all
Hubby's been dropped at the station with his packup, fish fed, DW & WM both finished, I'm just waiting for it to get light enough to see the line before I hang the washing out.
I have no idea what I'm doing today, but I'm sure it will include housework & knitting.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Insomniacs :-) great... I cant sleep at the moment... 12 days time I have the final hearing for a contact court hearing .. access has been denied to my previous partner for 2 years now due to his violence. We moved out of the area with the polices' help over a year ago .
OH started work at 4am this morning although we were up at 2 because we heard somebody outside.. not strange you say ... except we live in a field and our nearest neighbours are a mile each way !!
Today I will be mainly slicing onions that OH brought home last night from one of the other farmsWomen who suffer from Domestic Violence are not victims.... They are survivors....

Good Morning x
A very busy day for me and also quite stressful and very expensive:eek::eek::eek:
Poppy Dog is going for her operation to remove her lump:(:(:( Vet has said i cannot sit on it any longer as it is growing so today is the day. No food since last night so no treats and you would think I was starving them both. Anyway she is at the vets early so will take her in with my son. Please send healing vibes as I know she is only a dog but she is my constant and loyal companion xx
Then I have the Osteopath but my back is in a bad way so it really is a necessity.
Then DS1 has finally agreed to get some counselling so I am going with him to the first session so fingers crossed.
I shall be very glad when the day is done and we are all settled back at home.
OS content - well yesterday was OS as we looked after Mooloo's DGD and did lots of lovely activities which were all free. Initially we were going to go to soft play but i wasnt feeling up to driving so we stayed at home.
Ok onwards and upwards and hope you all have a good day xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Molly, huge for poppy, ds and especially you today, hope it all goes well.
My lovely husband surprised me last night by calling and saying he was on his way home. He got here at 5.30 am and has to leave Saturday at lunchtime, but I am over the moon. Not as happy as Coco, mind you!
Hugs all round.

Morning all,
I was so busy y/day I didn't get on here. In the morning we had someone come and price up for a new roof on our extension on the cottage and the double garage, because of the slope we are having sheets of tiles, he also priced up for us to have solar panels. He worked out the price and I thought it was his telephone number . However it's much cheaper than 9 other quotes we've had so deceided to go ahead. Not going to get much change out of 14k, the garage will be 3k but that wont be done until the spring. We have to get the new roof on asap so the panels can be fitted and registered before the tarrif goes down in April. We will sell the elec to our supplier bringing in about £1,600 a year and get free elec. It's quite a good return for spending £8,500 on panels as we are getting diddly squat having it sat in savings getting 3% interest. Not the best time to have a new roof fitted but it has to be done.
I made a huge chocolate cake last night for DD2, it's her Birthday today, I'll ice it later and wrap her presents although I think she has the best pressie she could wish for, called Olivia. I have been making DD, SiL2b and DGD dinner everynight since Olivia was born so I thought as a Birthday treat I'll let them choose any takeaway they want, they love Indian or chinese but can rarely afford them.
I've put some stewing steak in the SC to make a steak, onion and mushroom plate pie. BM and WM on the go. I need to do some shoping today and clean the bedroom windows in & out.
Off to read y/days posts.
Hope it's a good day for all poorlies and sad peeps.
MOLLY, possitive vibes winging it's way to you now. (((hugs))) also0
