cheapskate glad the SC's gone down a storm :D
molly hope your dog is alright
jackieg enjoy having him home! does he work away? my friend works off shore in(or off??) scotland and hates it :( he has three weeks of work 12/12 shifts then one week off and it takes ages to get back down south.

Morning all. Set the alarms wrong this morning so we got up after OH should have left but he made it on time, he has also shortened his lunch so he can leave 30 minutes earlier and get home over an hour earlier :) I've left it so late to have breakfast that I can't decide what to eat. I'm such a dope.
Today I need to go through all my finances and workout what I will have left after rent and fees, hopefully it's enough for the things I need to buy/replace and I can do some online bargain hunting. Annoyingly the most essential is the most expensive- a dehumidifier. Then those not so essential things like a printer, bed sheets, thermals etc. I hate how everything has ballsed up at once.

  • Hi all
Washing is on the line & it's sunny, 2 huge pans of apple stewing on the hob, I'm trying to get as much done as possible today as I have DGD2 for the day tomorrow & I shall be far too busy having cuddles to do anything useful.
    Hugs Hester

Bright here today so I am catching up on the washing before DH takes me shopping when he finishes work.
I am another one who hates shopping in half term because too many mothers let their kids run around as if a supermarket/shop is another playground and don't tell them off when they break something or run into people, they would be the first ones to scream blue murder if their little darlings got hurt
    And breathe images?q=tbn:ANd9GcR6cAYryyOAE0TJSB02z28SQmj9cCdqGQMJf6aUlvV61q2dYqZG1wOmmmmmm!

Molly positive vibes and ((((hugs)))) for Poppy dog x

Cheapskate there are some good slow cooker books in the Works at the moment starting at £1.99. Thisis the time of year when mine is always on :D

JackieG I hope you have a great time with DH, but no Hesteresk stories of knickers on the taps if you please :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Well I must go and peg some more out
    Have good days all x

    Morning All,

A lovely start to the day with a nice lie in and read my book for about an hour (I just had to finish it). It's my last one from the library so need to pop in and get some more today.
So eventually got up and did 20 mins on the treadmill and listened to popmaster before making me and DS3 a boiled egg and soldiers:D
Will have a quick swish around and jump in the shower and get DS3 on the case with his English homework. He really hates English but if he could just manage a C Pass we would both be happy. He is a straight A student in all the sciences and good at maths but finds English heavy going. He is hoping to do Science at A Level but it would be great if he could just pass his English.
DH is still limping and moaning and obviously couldn't play football last night so his mates decided to call on the way back to give him a rundown. Of course I had my pj's on, no make up or bra:eek: you've never seen anyone move so fast:rotfl:
Tea tonight will be a nice big chicken salad with potatoes for the boys.
Will pop to Mr S this afternoon when DH gets back, I must say I am really impressed with Sainsbobs at the mo and I have always thought there fruit and veg are better than anywhere else. Plus I have a £6 voucher off if I spend £40 so it is OS.
    Anyway enough waffle,
Mollie, hope today is not too stressful and poppydog is ok
Monogran hope you get the newsletter done
JackieG enjoy having DH home, don't wear him out:o:rotfl:

Have a good day all Julie x

    Hi all

Well, I've read the thread, but I fear nothing much has stuck; too darned tired, I guess, so (((HUGS))) where needed - help yourselves.

Molly tons of healing vibes heading Poppy's way; I know how it is when your best friends in all the world have four feet and fur.:o

Brighteyes so sorry to hear about your Grandad.

There was something else I was going to mention, but it's escaped me - I'll post again later if I remember what it was.:(

OS wise - dins tonight is the 2nd half of yesterday's Shepherd Spy, as Mr LW is on late shift and I don't know what time he'll be in. There's a 'nana on the dish that wants using up, too, so I think maybe we'll have that slices with a little HM strawberry jam by way of a pud.;)

Mr LW's on leave all next week (got leave to use up) so meal planning is difficult, as he'll want to go out most of the days, and I've no idea if we'll be back to eat or not - think I'll plan things from the freezer, then if we end up being out, it doesn't matter. Being veggie, I don't have to defrost the food slowly first, so that's OK:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Afternoon All

Decided to have another day at home to make sure the bug has left, feeling better just a little tired. Washing is on the line (3 loads as I stripped my bed) and the sun is shining (just!).

Molly, I hope Poppy dog is ok, pets are such a worry.
    Jackie G - Enjoy!
Cheapskate - I use my slow cooker a lot and couldn't be without it.

Managed to knit a hat yesterday as a christmas pressie for DS2s GF, it seems bigger than the last one but the yarn is the same make and I didn't do anything differently!

Have a good Friday, take care. XX

    Afternoon all,

Only just managed to get on here. Have had a bit of a house full and I have spent the last 4 hours darning DD1's pointe shoes, apparently it makes them last longer but I now have painful finger ends!

OH's mum is due to arrive soon, she is visiting for the weekend so I have a few beds to change round and my tea drinking friend is back from holiday so I will hopefully have time to fit in a quick cup of tea with her.

Cooked another meal from Hugh F-W's book last night, macaroni peas, it was lovely but DD1 and DS insisted on adding ham to theirs!

Tea tonight is HM pizza for how ever many people that are here.

Molly, hope that Poppy dog is ok.

Hugs to all that need them.
Have a lovely rest of the day everyone.:)

    <Peers in shyly>:hello:
Hello everyone. Today I've got two wash loads on the line (well the kids have, but I asked them to), the slowcooker is on with a packet of diced turkey thigh, an A!d! chilli sauce, and a value can of chopped tomatoes, but DD1 has been invited to a friends for tea, so the rest of us might have something out of the freezer and I'll freeze the chilli for another day, DD2 isn't that fond of chilli, DD1 is.

DD2 and I were going to do some baking while DD1 is out, but then I saw the state her room is in, so she is tidying up while I've cast on some fluffy wool to knit the first of several teddy bears for Christmas presents. If she can get her room in a satisfactory state before it gets too late, we might bake later.

Hugs to everyone who needs them and healing vibes to poppy dog.

Afternoon. :) Glad to say the week is over and I've got my feet up (for the time being!). The roadworks were a little better today so there wasn't as much stress. Hopefully they'll be finished sometime next week and things'll get back to normal. Beyond that, normal day, DH has done the hoovering and a bit of the washing, and I'm looking for banana bread recipes to use up the three rather manky looking 'nanas on top of the fridge. Mmm, I feeling a baking day coming along! I've said I'll make cupcakes and cookies for a bake sale on Monday, so while the oven is on for that I guess I can whip up a banana bread to fill up the gaps.

Enchiladas for tea tonight, a favourite of ours, so that'll be excellent. Must make a daily routine of checking what needs using up in the fridge. Today was "Wear it Pink" day at work. The only pink clothing I have is a pair of fluffy pink bedsocks! My feet have been roasting all day. Still, hopefully lots of money will have been raised. And my headache has finally started to go - bliss - I woke up with it and it hasn't really budged all day.

It's the weekend! ((hugs)) to those in need

Candygirl - I hate car costs. My last one seemed to have no end of faults. Always something! Here's to something positive happening for you.
Molly - Hope all goes well for you - thinking of you.
Butterfly Brain - I quite know what you mean! Half term should be over in our area now so things should get back to normal-ish.

    Have a lovely evening, everyone.
