Sorry for bumping but I'm curious about this stuff!

Are these what people use when they refer to soda crystals?

Do people use this stuff instead of Borax?

If not, then can someone please point me to the right products?

    Thanks :)

I agree about the Poundland Oxy being great. For those who would like to use borax substitute:

I would use the vinegar in the conditioner compartment rather than the soap compartment or in the drum

I use white vinegar and soda crystals for the service wash.

I have used vinegar for towels on occasion when needed.

I switched back to powder detergent as I found liquid detergent to be what caused mustiness in the first place.

I wouldn't use vinegar in the gloop, but I do use it when doing a service wash as mentioned. I also use white vinegar instead of fabric conditioner when washing my black shower curtain as this obviously gets a lot of soapy residue on it when in use.

  • can anyone please advise me on laundry gloop

i made alot last christmas with the bar soap xmas pressies, and went to use some this morning.

it has indeed turned to gloop, it smells alright, but the texture is slimy.

i used it, but wanted to check what texture others gloop is? and if mine is as it should be or if anyone has an opinion on if i should not use it...

    thanks in advance

Excuse my ignorance, but what's laundry gloop?

I'm assuming it's a type of washing liquid?
