I was really interested in this thread as we are going to treat ourselves to a deep fat fryer for christmas and a friend had already recommended the Actifry to us.
Upon reading this thread i was amazed that it costs as much as it does to buy one, but i thought if it's as good as everyone says then it's worth the investment. However, i keep reading that after 2 or 3 years when they break people buy another as they are so good.....how can they be good if they only last 2 or 3 years (and thats not the ones that caught fire due to a safety fault)?
I won't be buying one of these now as we don't have much money and i just can't spend that much money on a product that lasts for such a short time.0 -
I've just bought one from bestbuy.co.uk. Which is the same price as amazon but there is the option of buyin a 3 or 5 year extended warranty. I bought a 5 year one so I know i'll get my moneys worth out of the fryer.0

Another one here who has had an actifry for over 2 years with no problem. My Mum bought one too and no problems there either, definitely wouldn't be without it. You can use it for so much more than chips though must admit I don't0

PMSL that's like saying I won't buy a TV in case it breaks down, did you miss the people on here saying they've had one and NOT had any problems with it :T0 -

When you fry potatoes, a cancer causing chemical called arcylamide is formed.
ROFLMAO if you're going to be like that...
Living=chance of cancer the dead don't get cancer
or
Living=DEATH
Stupid argument. As for Arcylamide well it's present in almost anything that's cooked except for being boiled so by your argument we should boil everything? !!!!!! the governments/scientists still don't even know what the implications are yet in short one to watch but carry on as normal - at the end of the day something is surely going to kill you eventually!!0 -
I was looking at buying one of these and on the argos Q&A they say it takes 25/45 mins to cook chips is that right?
Thanks0
