Oh heck, I'm not so sure now - these have been reported as a potential fire risk - have a look at the discussion forum at the bottom of the page0

We've had ours for nearly a year now. The chips don't taste like pub chips but often better in my opinion. When we first had it I wasnt as keen as they seemed to have a " hot air" taste to them but they are fine now. We leave the skin on the potatoes toonand this makes them really tasty. We also do roast potatoes in them which not only frees up oven space but it's cleaner, easier and healthier too.
Regarding the fire risks i too was put off for about a year but the issues with the machines catching fire seems to have been with the very first ones. I can't say i've seen a problem with one catching fire in the past couple of years.0 -

The regular actifry cooks up to 1 kg of raw chips, I usually cook 750g raw unpeeled potatoes for 2 adults and 1 child, so it depends what ages your family are.Still virtually alcohol free since 4/1/15. (10 Xmas/ New Year/Birthday drinks)
It takes 3500 calories to lose a pound in weight. Target 13 lbs weight loss. 18.5lbs lost 2nd May - 28 September.0 -
was just about to click and buy then thought I would read some reviews, seems absolutely loads of people are having problems with the lids breaking, now I think I will have to keep my money for now. Shame as I love the idea of cooking and eating home made chips again !0

If you get one of these, from Amazon or anywhere else, what's to say they don't still have the earlier Actifry ones in stock, so that's what they are sending out to you? Much as I would love one of these, I'm too worried about the risks involved and a lot of people I speak to have the same concerns.
