    I've been Money Tipped!
    I bought one just over a year ago after reading tons of reviews, good and bad on the internet.
    I was worried that it was going to be another kitchen gadget that would lose it's appeal and be banished to the cupboard but it hasn't and is still used heaps, makes brilliant roast potatoes without the mess and hassle and as a family member is coeliac using ready prepared ones is out of the question as they are usually coated in flour.
    Would definately replace it if it broke but it's been fine so far, easy cleaned to, as you can dishwasher the bowl, paddle and lid.
  • I've been using mine for about three years and the only problem I've had has been a small part on the lid breaking (luckily replaced by Argos under warranty)

    Great for evenly cooking sausages and brilliant for making 'roast' parsnips - I'd say better than cooking them in the oven

    I wouldn't be without mine. I absolutely hate deep fat fryers having witnessed one go on fire and this means we can still have lovely chips without the burnt crispy edges like what happens with oven chips. I've also just put ready made oven chips in it if I haven't had time to peel the tatties and they are lovely too!

    So how do you explain the more recent reviews, just a few months old, from Amazon that I posted here, that say theirs blew up/caught fire etc? (I'm sure they didn't actually 'blow up' but if something even has the potential of maybe catching fire, then why buy it?)

    Added to this that some people are saying bits have melted off or fallen off, particularly the paddle, or only lasted a year. That's disgusting for a product that costs nearly £100!

    As explained above people who bought some time ago who didn't feel they could be bothered to write a review at the time who after theirs did go up decided to have a rant about it.

    There is of course dare I say it - fibbing as well

    I also used to hate the lingering smell of oil in the air for days afterwards!!

    When I don't cut my own chips, (I think it's) McCains have a shallow/deep fry-only bag in the freezer section which are awesome in the Tefal

    Actifry = cancer.

    When you fry potatoes, a cancer causing chemical called arcylamide is formed.
