We were going to buy one of these with our leftover honeymoon before we realised how much debt we were in! Great bargain but ho-hum, going to have to let this one slide by I think. (Unless I could maybe convince someone to buy us it as an Xmas pressie).November £5 a day challenge: £223.16/£150
December £10 a day challenge: £279.00/£310
Started comping too - no luck yet!

I have wanted one for years then when the problems were reported I was put right off, but I'm pretty sure the problems are resolved as after extensive googling I can't find anyone reporting any problems for at least 2 years, and i don't think Amazon with their turnover will have 3 year old stock.
It came 2 days ago and the chips are yum :jAKA: PC

Thanks so much for this, OP. HAve wanted one for a while and as we've just started slimming world, this should help. I'm a bloke, I need me chips!
We went for the one at £75 fullfilled by Amazon warehouse. You still get warranty so should be fine. To the person who said about smoke alarms etc; If you don't have one, no matter if you only have a mobile phone charger in the house, then you're silly. Caution should be taken when using any device.I am firmly across the line. I won't impose my values on you if you keep away from mine.

I am on slimming world and the sw chips in the oven are ok but I use frylight with my actifry and this makes them free with extra easy plan, great for veggies to , so glad I bought oneOn the countdown mortgage will be paid off this year if I keep paying bit extra fingers crossed fully paid out by July :j0

Both hubby and i are on sw as well. We just use a teaspoon of oil for the 2 of us. To be honest I don't syn it but if I did a teaspoon of oil is 2 syns so 1 each and much nicer than the oven ones and i prefer to use cookin ingredients in a natural form rather than chemically processed sprays. I've lost 4 stone in a year so it obviosly doesn't matter.0

chips are lush and i only use half a spoon of oil as i dont do a full load my dad bought an automatic chipper type machine for his and it means he can have chips ready to go in the 5 minutes it takes to peel potatoes x

You can tell when the Actifry was made by reading the code on the base. In the small black circle it has a clock dial with numbers on, just see where the line points and that's the year it was made. HTH

Try not peeling the potatoes they taste even better in my opinion and saves peeling too! Delicious!0 -
Had one of these also and agree with everything about the great chips but alas mine didn't so much catch fire as start smoking - do think it was probably one of the first ones tho.
Contacted Tefal who did offer to sell me a new one at a reduced price but as they say once bitten and all that........Massive thanks to all who contribute on the MSE forums, especially on grabbit and competition boards0
