check-in told him he can claim this fee back, BUT, surely the onus is on the customer to make sure the T&C's are complied with? even if he didn't receive an email advising you need to print off boarding passes, the info is clearly there on their website, how can a refund be due when it looks like it's his error??
it'll be great if he can get the £160 back, but i doubt it somehow.
I would guess they were suggesting he try claiming it from his own travel insurance, he would wasting his time trying to claim it back from Ryanair.0 -
Equally a waste of time trying to claim it back from travel insurance.....
I've yet to see a travel policy that will cover you against stupidity of not reading Ryan Air's booking conditions and failing to follow instructions to print boarding cards in advance.0 -
I am flying with Ryanair on Friday and have been inundated with emails and tick boxes to confirm that I understand about the need to print off my boarding cards. I've also had emails constantly reminding me about the one piece of hand luggage.
I've had 2 emails so far today already.
As to why I fly Ryan air - for my route booking 3 months in advance saved me about 25% on the price of other airlines.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. the agents at the check in desks will tell you what you want to hear because you'll go away with a (false) solution to customer services, and not back to them0

call me cynical, but that's just what i said too!
bit of an update: he's been in touch with Ryan Air a couple of times since his return from holiday & he's saying he'll get back £120 of the £160 he had to pay, which i'm absolutely amazed at!0 -
