i would like to know if the woman interviewed ( her father being the M.P. ) is now going to have a fine from the DVLA for failing to give the new address details of her second car to them- i belive failure to do so is a £1000 fine. That is what started the whole process-- it was her fault. I found the program to be very one sided, gloryfied journolism at its best. would it be possible to have the edited out footage? no- i thought not0

I filled out the form yet they totally ignored what I had said and I am struggling enough as it is and really panicking.
I'll move this post to it's own thread. That will make it easier for people to help.

Well you cant avoid what the guy was saying about people and to people, the program stated that he carried out many other visits in a professional manner , however that is not an excuse for his poor behavior is it.and because you do not agree with the program does not make it poor journalism
You are correct an error on the part of the mp's daughter caused the knock on effect of the bailiffs however her complaint was not about the bailiff being involved but the the way they went about things etc, charges etc etc . Just because you make a mistake should not be an excuse by another to pimp you for money.0 -

i do not condone that particular bailiff for his actions-- they were un-acceptable in 90% of his actions and was rightly sacked........ but in the womans case by not doing what she should of done i.e. informing the dvla-- what other action could of been taken??? ok let her off the bailiffs charges but then fine her £1000 for failure to disclose to the dvlc-- she made her bed etc etc
footnote-- i am a fully licenced and certified bailiff-- and have been for 10 years-- only disreptable companys pay via commision-- i am not paid by commision.. i alwyas follow the codes and conducts laid down-- over half of my cases get sent back for vunerable/un-able to pay-circumstances/ death of debtor reasons.. i have on about 50% of the remaining 50% of cases accepted payment plans of round about £5/week or less
i have learned from the producers that they had 20 undercover operatives placed to get the footage for the program-- where are the other 19 undercovers secret footage???????? not good enough for sensationlism journalism i suspect0 -
and as a footnote-- their are bad apples in every industry-- remember the program about nasty chefs spitting in ppls meals for complaining?? does that stop you from going to restaurants? no........0

and as a footnote-- their are bad apples in every industry-
Thats exactly what I was saying today. In my area we have a very good working relationship and bailiffs companies have been asked before not to use specific bailiffs again when we've had issues with them (nothing major) but in the whole we haven't had any real issues raised.
I doubt anyone would condone a bailiff who acted like this - if I came across it I would certainly push for action against them - but you cant tar everyone with the same brush. Ive had bailiffs who have gone out of their way to help people but you only ever hear of the few big complaints that come up.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -

I found the programme to be extremely one sided, if there are so many dodgy bailiffs out there, why did they focus on just one. However, the one they focussed on was an extremely unpleasant character. I don't believe half of what he said to the supposed trainee he had, he was just showing off, although I can't imagine who he thought would be impressed.Light Bulb Moment: October 2011

hopefully it will be a awake up for the oft to regulate the industry, energy companys, banks dont get away with it so why should theyDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
