I sent off a form to tell the bailiffs for my council tax bill that I could only pay £100 per month but they have told me I have to pay£399 - what can I do? I filled out the form yet they totally ignored what I had said and I am struggling enough as it is and really panicking.

£100 per month but they have told me I have to pay£399
is £399 the total outstanding amount including bailiffs fees?? if so paying the debt off in 4 months would be totaly acceptable
the question is what is the total outstanding debt you owe and your circumstances in why you didnt pay the original bill. if your circumstances have changed since you incured the original amount then your circumstances now will not be taken into consideration. reason being you ran up the debt and made an educated assesment that you could afford to repay but didnt. that is your fault not the creditors fault... but as i say more infomation is required0
