Also mustn't mix up County Court bailiffs with private bailiff firms.

Allegedly a world of difference in behaviour.
From my experience most definitely. Court bailiffs I've dealt with have been wonderful!

I have been given a basic insight in to what's going to be covered on the show and apparently its more individual behaviour than wider problems. Its like any job, there are those who do the job correctly and behave and those who don't - even from the bailiffs I deal with I see a wide spread of behaviours, from those who are actually quite helpful to those who are arrogant & ignorant.

I don't have a problem with bailiffs doing their job but I do with those who don't do it properly.
I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.

When HMRC outsourced their bailiff actions one of the firms they used was Rossendales.

These days they use Field Force agents

baliffs use scare tactics to get money and they hate it if you stand up to them

Well that was interesting. Anyone else feel Mr Boast was a fairly typical bailiff?

I'm all for paying your debts, but I am fully disgusted by what was seen and that the council is still using them. I wonder if they will be refunding the ilegal charges. Mse is for the consumer, so why is their team not campaining about it instead of the stupid unerforecable debtsm shame on the councild ans halmslow, hope the baliff gets done for racism and fraud
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
  • Bailiffs as with certain others in authority can abuse powers in the way they speak/Deal to joe public, speak to a court bailiff on the phone as i have done for a friend he was plain rude and didn't even know what i was ringing about . However county court bailiffs against private bailiffs i would imagine the first will stick to the rules a little more. However the aim is to get money off the debtor so they will always be allowed some way of putting on the pressure. The best way to beat them is not let it get that far and nip it in the tail with an affordable repayment through the court and stick to it.
As for last nights program interesting i doubt this company knew nothing about this guy , i found him to be a little bit of a showman or walter mitty type to his newbie friend who he was showing the ropes too, i doubted his version of putting a guy down with a punch to the throat, if noticed threats of violence were done over the phone, never saw any physical violence if their has been it will bring the victim out now this guy just miss informed the debtor on what they can do or options open to them .He has been sacked and i would imagine up for ridicule by neighbors etc , if i were him a holiday may be a good idea.
