Nah... that's fine... :) I'm sure it will be enough to give folks a start - and, as always, google is our friend...

    http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=bokashi&btnG=Google+Search&meta=

And an early interesting link from there is:- Bokashi Composting Explained: Quickly Compost Your Food Waste

Hmmm £58 for a kit... there must be cheaper ways...? The wiki link is quite good :)

Edit:- If you have suitable containers all you need is the starter bran - here's one possible source (at about £5 per kilo)http://www.bokashidirect.co.uk/bokashi-bran.htm

  • whoops deleted my post didn't need saying, your welcome anyway, and yes google is truly a friend
  • With regards to the kit, it is a bit steep, but you used to be able to get them on a website called recycle now, something like that, for free

Had to resort to a chat to Mum for the evap milk. Between us we decided that I'd throw a couple of fruit crumbles together using fruit we bottled ages ago, and then use the evap milk to make the Bird's custard to go with it.

I wouldn't even bother making custard with it, I would just pour it over the crumble mmmm delish!

Well I'm quite chuffed with myself - kids at halloween do dooking for apples and because they have to bite into them to get them some usually get chucked out but last night at silly oclock I made an apple crumble so no apple waste this year...

Can I join please? I am usually pretty good but have let things slip a bit recently. I'll aim for £5 for the month :o, yes I know that's a lot but it is only the 1st & I have to report chucking:
    - HM chicken soup. Even my cast iron stomach didn't fancy it ;). Say £1
    - Whole pineapple £2 on BOGOF, reduced to £1.34, still on BOGOF, so 67p.

In my defence, to save wasting more, I've just eaten the other pineapple. Feel sick now and tongue feels 'burnt' :p.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

TrixieB - I should have done that.....custard was a disaster. I boiled it, as normal, added it to the custard powder-and-sugar paste as normal.....and it was downhill from there. Within seconds I could stand the spoon up in it - it had the consistency of thick toffee and I had to offer to slice it :D V amusing - I won't live that down for ages!!!

You should have just told them that you'd changed your mind and decided to make a rich toffee sauce :)
