I, hopefully along with all the other buyers on this thread, wish to pass on my thanks for sorting this out, Staples could have easily told us all to !!!!!! off, haha

they are genuinely out of stock i beleive, what with the flooding in Thailand (our suppliers area) its compounded the issue.

I pointed this out to a user the other day :)

I ordered on the 26th and have had no confirmation email (have not checked my bank account), however it was a hard drive. Fingers crossed following leebtyler's info that I will get it.

i would offer to look it up for you, but with no confirmation email i dont suppose you even got a reference number? however the hard drives ARE definately out of stock, afaik these orders are being cancelled and refunds issued, it just depends where you are in the queue for stock allocation and how far your order is, your best bet is to call them direct on 0844 546 6666 and give them your postcode and details and check manually.

Thank you, I will leave it a few days before ringing as I am sure things are busy enough there at present. The order is showing on the order history on the website so I think it must be somewhere in the system.

As with all Grabbit's it's a bonus if you get it but I'm also at no loss if I don't get it.

Your updates on this thread are much appreciated though leebtyler.

should have added the "HP Hard drives" are out of stock, not all others are.

a refreshing attitude, sadly not shared by all.
its the same as the HP Touchpad firesale, we had like 200 online, and 30,000 orders because the stock database isnt real time to save resources, it pings on a 12 min timer funnily enough, then when you hammer the website with literally hundreds of thousand of hits (a bit like a ddos attack) it slows it down to a crawl allowing multiple orders and hundreds of duplicate and additional orders that normally would not have slipped through.

fun times ahead for staff :rotfl:

I just got a confirmation email since ordered when the code was first posted on here. Before this I didn't get any email and we also had a call today to confirm the address for the delivery of the order. So hold in there people looks like they are working through them.:j

Also got phone call and confirmation email after 5 days.
Someone in Staples has a sense of humour. Anyone notice that the latest order reference numbers start with the letters !!!!!!?

They may be working through them but still no word of why I have been charged & all I received was a brochure.
