You are right tired mum it depends on the teacher, on another occasion with mine, his form tutor was a relief and he had no faith in her, could not go to the Head of Year without involving Form Tutor without going behind her back and causing trouble for himself. We talked about it and he didnt want me to go in, but he had an English teacher who he really got on with, and he realised he could talk to her, and she had a quiet word with the bullys Form Tutor, situation eased, but eventually I changed his school. October half term of Year 10, and he was happy to move, when I asked why he said he was fed up of the idiots! Says it all!Member #8 of the SKI-ers Club

Hello again!
Just popped out and bought some "Quinoa" reduced in waitrose - Ive never had it before but see gillian mckeith suggests using it sometimes- anyone else had it?
Question: when you batch cook yr lasagnes, chilli, spag bol, sheps pie, soups etc - What containers do you put them in to freeze?? im curious
I never freeze any, just cook from scratch that day I want them.
plus how much mince does everyone use for lasagne for say family of 4? Im wondering if I use too much in one, when it could stretch to two? but then my DH and DS1 like filling portions!!0 -
((Hugs)) moggins.
seroxat-chick - my fridge/freezer keeps on making a buzzing sound - so I have to keep giving it a thump to stop!
tiredmum - did you go to the college for yr nails? Have you ever had a hair cut at a college? im wondering whether to try it or NOT! umm0 -
Hi, shez! I put portions into Flora tubs, and freeze them. Have to keep them level until frozen, though, as they're not watertight. I put soup into ice cream tubs.
Tend not to freeze lasagne - it's difficult to warm up without drying out, so make what I need from frozen bolognaise!
1kg of good quality butcher's mince (not much fat) gives us about 10 - 12 portions.
As you can see, I twagged the afternoon of my meeting. Left just after I'd had the delicious lunch!
Must go, w*** is calling.

Hi everyone!
Was offline yesterday as spent the day on a first aid course....it's now 30 compressions to 2 breaths and the whole cpr thing including the position of your hands is much more straightforward than it used to be. However, theory is one thing...here's hoping I never need to use it.
OS today has been cleaning the bathroom and sorting out a white wash which I'll run when I get home. Off out on the razzle tonight to meet a group of friends at a local hostelry.
Have a great day chaps!

PS for those of you doing online grocery shopping this site might be useful https://www.mysupermarket.com. It prices checks Asda, Tesco, Waitrose and Sainsburys. Calculates the cheapest place and then takes you to that store to buy. Haven't used it so can't vouch for it but hey it's currently free to use!Aiming for a life of elegant frugality wearing a new-to-me silk shirt rather than one of hair!0 -

Shez - i use those plastic containers that chinese food comes in (i save them if i ever have a takeaway(not often now) i also buy the cheap value containers (about 49p in Tesco and Asda) they are good for portions as well. I do freeze lasagne, normally in the glass dish i made it in, or if im freezing cooked left overs, use one of those plastic containers!!!!
seroxat-chick - hope you get a better response from your consultant, than at the hospital yesterday xx0 -
AAAAARRRRRGH I just wrote a really long post and then pressed the back arrow by accident and wiped the lot
It's been one of those days...
Washing machine has broken. Only 2 months old - oh joy. Phoned the warranty customer services who were very helpful but I need to get an engineer out and what with being on jury service I can't commit to a time slot for this until the week after next  so the launderette it is
On the plus side I got discharged from jury service until tomorrow. Still haven't been assigned to a trial. Am about to have soup for lunch, yellow stickered at Tesco on Sunday, and need to work out what I am going to have for tea. It is annoying being on jury service because you can never be absolutely sure that you won't get put on a case with a protected jury, where they put you up overnight, so I can't put the SC on in the morning or take something out of the freezer just in case!
Angelselondon, you are not the only Old Styler in Westcombe Park - Caterina lives round there tooI haven't seen her around the forums lately, though.
Loubee I hope the studio is nice, I love Brockley and that whole area (as you know). If it really is in Brockley, it's in Zone 2 so a great location for transport and only 2 stops from London Bridge. (I say "if it really is in Brockley" because a lot of flats which are in Ladywell, Honor Oak Park or Crofton Park are advertised as being in Brockley, and while they are all areas I would like to live in - I lived in Ladywell for a couple of years - they are all in Zone 3. Crofton Park is especially awkward as it is on the line into Blackfriars which isn't as good for connections as the lines which pass through, or terminate at, London Bridge.)
MUST find something useful to do this afternoon. The best option IMHO will be to go for a walk through the park as far as the Old Kent Road and go shopping in Halford's for a bicycle, which I've been meaning to do for weeks and the sale is still on. Obviously it's something best done in daylight, so I can cycle home through the park safely, and I'm not often free during daylight hours in winter!
Right, off to eat soup. ((((Hugs)))) to others having a bad day, though I'm pleased I'm not the only one!
Happy Birthday AussieLass!

Hooray!!!!!!, my computer arrived today and i am now up and running again. I will definitely miss the cream hot chocs from the internet cafe though.(Like i can afford to drink many of them anyway ;)my hips are big enough as they are) Today i have done pretty much nothing but i did pop into Asda`s for bunny food and had a friend around for a cuppa and a chat. I picked up captain chaos from pre-school and sat him down with a winter picnic while i unpacked my new computer and set it up. I have probably missed so much on this thread but will endeavour to catch up as best as i can. Happy birthday Aussie!!! Hugs to unwell peeps and any-one else that needs one. Take care and warap up coz its biting outside. Love Elaine“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line.
